"For me, the best curry shop in Sheffield is Maveli`s on West Street. It`s central near the Swim Inn `spoons. It`s South Indian as opposed to Pakistani / Apna / Bengali curry. Very nice but a bit different.More `traditional` is Butler`s Balti House (Broad Lane) which is near to Shakespeares (best pub) and also not far from TravelLodge (I think)."

Butlers is very nice, easily among the top 5 curry houses in Sheffield. Although I'd say the best pub in that area is probably the Red Deer due to it's extensive range of ales and fine whiskies.

As for the game itself? Couldn't give a shit, I'm in Amsterdam tomorrow and by that time will have gotten through enough beer and blueberry haze to make me forget this sorry bunch of incompetents who apparently pass for Sheffield United players. I've lent my season ticket to some other poor mug for this one.

Mines gone for the whole season.

Get in.

Shrewsbury at home, I suspect that when the fixtures came out last June this particular fixture received little attention, the majority of fans would have given it a cursory glance and a tick in the easy 3 points at home box.

How things change, the significance that this fixture has now assumed is beyond anyone's wildest predictions, another drab performance yielding anything less than 3 points accompanied by a winning margin of less than 2 or 3 clear goals and the season moves a step closer to a complete write off.

For the record their last 6 games are W2 L4 and they are languishing in 20th position.

Butlers has changed somewhat since I spent large chunks of my childhood there, many years before it converted to Indian and fell down :)

Is it just me that feels that when "barny" proudly announced that he had flogged his season ticket, that he had also divorced himself from the Blades family?

Yet he's still here. Why?

Going to the games requires far more time and expense than to pop on the forum and express opinions on a team you're passionate about. And not going to the games doesn't devoid me of any of that passion, I'm just choosing not to give any of my hard earned money to McCabe.

Get thisen t'Shapla at Moorfoot - quicker to get to after the game too.

Can I just remind you all that we've won every league home match this season apart from Bury, Colchester, Millwall and Southend.

I think by mentioning those four teams that have beaten us Peter, show why we are never confident in approaching home games.

You don't have to agree with him but he has every right to do it.

What a difference 4 months make, when we were approaching first game of the season it was "promoted by tea time Xmas day" now it's "we may scrape a draw vs Shrewsbury " WT actual F has gone wrong, why so depressed and defeatist, 8 points behind 2nd place and without one game playing half decent, and half a decent squad not or hardly played through injury?
Call me blinkered or wearing blade coloured glasses but 3 wins or so and we could easily be right back in it by the JTW, to my mind it's not that the players lack ability just lack application and commitment.
Nigel should be saying, play badly in the next 3-4 games and believe me come January you will be lucky to get on the bench for Worksop town reserves.
Back the blades tonight and every game, the boo boys need to "do one" as that shit helps no one, make BDTBL an intimidating fortress, win a couple at home with the crowd baying for more and this league is ours.
Get behind our beloved blades.

"I've said it before, there's no easy games in this league. We have an honest bunch of players who work hard. They are a good team, came at us and took their chances. We had plenty of opportunities to score but hit the post 10 times. Look it's not difficult keep them out at one end, put them in at the other. We'll regroup and go at it again on Saturday"

You have been warned :-(

I think we will dominate this game but only finish up winning 1-0 (Baxter)

I'd take a win anyway it comes tonight. Don't particularly care about playing well at the moment we just need points on the board to stop us losing ground on the top 6.

I think we will win, we're due a win and the performance on Saturday wasn't that bad, there were signs of encouragement. It would be nice to see Adkins rotate the squad and leave Sharp out of the starting XI to see how we get on without him. Done deserves a shot up front, perhaps with Sammon, to show Adkins what he can do in his favoured position.

Clean sheet ?? Us ?? Never in a month of Sundays with our defence (hope I am wrong though). Long concedes penalty and is red carded. Howard concedes yet another one in a million. Sharp misses a pen for us. Shrewsbury park the bus and we can't find a way through. Sheffield United lose 0-2. More disgruntlement and calls for Adkin's head. UTBFTP
