At least we're famous for something

What about lower level English football?

I follow Middlesbrough because Aitor Karanka is there. Brighton are top of their league. I met a boy the other day. English. He was wearing a Barca shirt but I asked him who he supported. He said: 'Sheffield United'. I know them, they have 20,000 fans in the third division. That's incredible. You get that in England.

Sheff United's the team to follow,
Xavi and Sharpy,
Che and McNulty,
and Diego De Girolamo

What the OP states isn't the only thing...........

There was football on television, yet the stadium was packed with supporters. Incredible. If that was in Catalonia, Olot vs. Reus, then there were would be a few people there and the families of the players.

He got us mixed up with the S6 dirt. So he probably doesn't even know us afterall.

He didn't get us mixed up I don't think. He says we are in the third tier and get 20,000 then uses Charlton as another example of the crowds in the lower leagues

Really good to see a legend who's achieved everything there is achieve in football take such a broad and genuine interest in the game. He's an actual fanatic! Very knowledgeable and always has something interesting to say.

That's all very well and good but can he play on a rainy Tuesday night at Crewe.

He's just a rich mans John Gannon!

When a world class player and well respected football man gives credit like this it just shows what an amazing asset you lot are to this club. It's greatest asset.

Xavi's comment is a poke in the eye to those who see the fans as being part the problem of where we find ourselves.

The AGM is probably due next month. If loyalty and patience of our fans could be converted into an asset value then SUFC would be reporting the healthiest balance sheet in the football leagues.

This confuses attendance with support.

Some fans are better than others
some fan's mothers are better than other fan's mothers

If you consider booing or otherwise abusing your own players support then I guess they do.

I define support differently from that though.
If after 5 years in this shithole of a league with constantly having one of if not the highest budget you still sit in mid table and look no closer to gaining promotion and the players who earn grossly over the average pay for league 1 stroll around the pitch with little or no fight in them a few of those immensely patient 20,000 SUPPORTERS of this club occasionally get frustrated and vent that frustration at there team then can you blame them? In those 5 years many will have shelled out a minimum of £1600 on season tickets alone and seen nothing but disappointment in return. Some like yourself will clap blindly forever. Others have a little bit of fire in there bellies. This club or set of players doesn't deserve the crowds we pull in still and let's remember, they wouldn't be on such good wages without the turnouts we still get

Can we sell him a season ticket?

Someone in the ticket office ought to send him a card thanking him for saying our fans are wonderful. And include a season ticket application form.

Xavi goes on to say 'they tried to sign me as a young man. Neil Warnock called me and asked if I could run the channels. I didn't know what he meant. He explained how there would be a large striker who would head the ball down to me and I could pick the ball up on the edge of the box and shoot. I was confused but he was forceful and I believed in what he told me. I agreed to sign for them. The club bid 120,000 for me the next day, however Barca declined. They wanted 150,000. The stingy fuckers at Sheff Utd wouldn't pay it, so they went and got Axel Smeets. I was gutted'
