According to the met office website heavy rain is due to arrive in Sheffield about 9am Saturday morning and will stop around Monday.. Now we will see if those Desso strands stand up to a good old Yorkshire downpour.

On a more serious note the weather could turn it into a bit of a lottery and we really need to win this one to stop the recent slide.

I still have faith in Adkins but Phipps' comments could be construed as some as being "the vote of confidence"

Need the players to man up.

It doesn't even look like a desso pitch. It's still brown round the edges.

Has McCabe gone on the cheap again?

The pitch will be fine. The team have hardly done any running on it all season.

My understanding is that the desso pitch requires four times as much water as a conventional pitch.
Underneath the pitch, in the Westfield corner, there is a new borehole that cost £20k. The water from the underground aquifer is FOC and the return on investment is reported to be 100% in 18 months...... Which is good ;)

We can always chuck the crap managers down it as well, imagine the compo savings.

The pitch is different to normal pitches. I reckon it played slow for the early matches but has improved a bit.

Logic tells me anyway that it is different and that it will take a bit of time for the players to adjust. If that is the case then the pitch should become an advantage to us.

Ifs, buts, maybes.

Just got into the Dev Cat, come on, it's just a bit of light rain, way people were talking I was expecting Scougall to drown in the warm ups

I thought having a quality pitch would be a benefit to us because it would no longer act as a leveller when inferior teams visit.

But it turns out there aren't many inferior teams this season. Bugger.

Getting heavier now... We will need players with a bit of strength and drive about them today.

That was never going to happen, he's brought his armbands with him :)
