I'd say so, both great goals tho. I think Brown did the same a week later against Ipswich in the FA Cup.

Yep. Right after Chris Turner had said it was a goal you score "once in a career" he repeated it almost exactly the following week.

The think that struck me about those highlights is the number of players we had that could take people on. Kabba beat 2 for the 3rd goal. Jinking runs from Windass and Brown saw them go close. Nudyy and Tonge could also beat a man. Asaba and Pesch could as well. When you look at our squad now, there's JCR and, on his day, Adams who can beat a man. That's a big part of the difference for me. I miss us having forward players that could fly past defenders like they weren't there.

Brighton keepers are a bloody miserable/talented bunch. It was Michel Kuipers (of the famous "Michel Kuipers is a Former Dutch Marine" chant) that pulled off a fine save to deny what would have been one of the great team goals of the 05/06 season, tipping over a Deano header late on in his third debut.

I never forgave Kuipers for that. Would have been the icing on the cake of promotion for the returning legend to score that header. What a nobhead.

It was against Brighton. I remember he went on a mad run towards the end from the halfway line, took on the entire team and Beasant pulled off a cracking save to prevent what would have been one of the goals of the season.

Owen Morrison was a strange one. Obviously a talented player and could skin defenders but his career really nosedived and I think he's recently been done for drug offences. A classic example of what happens to players who think they've made it and have the wrong attitude.

I said at the time we'll miss him when he's gone. Had a heart of gold that lad, did the stuff that nobody else was prepared to do.

I'm convinced that when he used to be given his man marking assignments they used to lock him in a cage with an opponents sweaty jock strap to get the scent. Then get Morgan to poke him with a stick every few hours and just let him out for the match.

Ex Thierry Henry body double Ashley Sestanivich holds that title surely. Last seen serving an 8-year sentence for a murder that occurred during an armed robbery.

Id take that kind of failure every season

Compared to where we are now yes, but actually you would find 5 years of that level of failure people would quickly get pissed off with it.

Really?
Championship play offs and getting to the semi's of both major domestic cup comps every season for 5 seasons?
Thumping the Pigs at home - let's face it, without Pressman that would have been about 7-1
You'd have some seriously exciting games in that lot

We'd also be the totally undisputed play off failure team by a country mile
So bad that they would probably commission a trophy for us out of pure sympathy.

Nah - you're right - I wouldn't trade 5-6 years of shit in this League for that

Not what I said though Kenners and you know it. 5 seasons of not getting up would have some of our lot in a right lather.

Jagielka was a poor midfielder. If he had stayed there he would never have made it a premier league player.

Take note Chris Basham

Tongey was awesome in this season. And awesome in the season we were in the Premier. And yet most on here were desperate for him to be bundled out of the club only about a year after. Shame.
