Due to the wife about to go into labour, I didn't attend the game today (been a usual fixture recently). How was Hammond?

I didn't go but several times in the commentary they mentiioned the words "Hammond has given the ball away again", which was exactly what I thought after he made his debut for us.

According to Keifff Edwards on Radio Pig he gave the ball away nearly every time he touched it or passed it into empty spaces expecting a United player to run into the space image.jpeg

From what I have seen of him he needs an man with pace and movement to play alongside him,

........and if anyone can think of one of those in our squad you've won a coconut

Rubbish, we've got a player who gives us nothing different to whats Coutts does. Playing them together is a big mistake. We need central midfield players who are going to get into the box to score goals, not sit and pass it sideways and backwards to keep the ball at all costs.

I don't want Adkins out but you've got question his signings they are not very good. Hamming may have been good when he was at Southampton but that was 4 years ag0.

We are desperate for an injection of pace in all departments the team is just too slow. You very rarely see a united player putting the ball past an opponent and out pace them, that's why they always double and pass backwards or sideways.

I think he was too nice with the squad in the summer, he should have had a massive cull of Cloughs squad.

I think he may been shackled by our board not wanting to pay players off from their contracts.

We'll have to see what happens in January if he's still here! Hopefully we might sign the players we need to get out of this fucking desperate league. UTB

If we're playing Flynn out of position we may as well try him in centre mid. I remember him playing there for a half under DW1 and he was OK. At least he gets up and down.

hammond is at moment rubbish.him and coutts did,nt pass a ball forward today.but dont worry he was good 3 years ago for crapkins. jobs for mates . booed off yes.indeed. im on short time at work cost me 80 pound all in 2day but there ok. no worrys theres. shambles

He was the worst of a thoroughly awful bunch and I can't see him improving any time soon.
He joins Woolford and Sammon as questionable signings by our saviour Adkins.

Sammon can't really do much when on the bench and only getting 20 minutes out of position. He would do a job as a lone striker, but we all know that will never happen

I hate to act all big headed, but I made a certain prediction whilst most others were busy searching through his rectum.

A prediction that has been nothing short of bang on so far.

He's woeful.

I think the only game we've won when he's played was the one where he was substituted...
Adkins has signed 5 players and the only one worth a regular place is Billy. let's pray that if he does bring any in in January their better than what he's brought in so far..
Didn't he bring in a super scout ?

I said that the first time I saw him. He reminds me of another Coutts and the problem for Adkins is, he's bulled him up to be a "fantastic player"

Early days I know as Hammond may not be fit or have adjusted to the different pace of div 3, but tbh it doesn't look good.

We are slow, predictable and teams are easily rolling us over

At the moment we are a fkin shambles

It does seem like it's a case of no one wanting the ball so the person with it gets it in the neck for giving it away a situation where lack of confidence or fear kills any movement off the ball.Players playing like this get managers the SACK hopefully after recent failures the
Board will understand and give Adkins the time and tools to turn it round. We know this team is not good enough but they can perform
Better than we are doing just now Adkins has a real headache sorting the winners from the loses in our squad (we do have some good
players!!).
The call might be to throw kids in but in my opinion this would be wrong as the pressure we are now under would make it very difficult for inexperienced players to do themselves justice .No the weak minded will have to tough it out with the ones who have got the bottle for a fight.I wish Adkins the best as he has
a difficult job especially until the transfer window when he may be able to strengthen

Hammond is Adkins' landmark/signature signing. He has to succeed, for Adkins' sake.

It is hard on a man to come to a club, heralded as the "main man" , not match fit and used to playing in a totally different Premier League environment. He has joined a squad which has a lot of uncertainty in it; a number of players have not been able to play at a sufficient level to impress the manager and his coaches and they will be uncertain about their personal futures under this manager.

There's so much uncertainty at Bramall Lane at the moment; no consistency of selection or formation, no players in good enough form to feel happy about themselves, poor results, hostile crowd, etc.

It's going to be very hard to mount a promotion challenge from where we are now. When Clough's team lost at Crewe he gave them all an almighty bollocking and we went on a run for the rest of the season. Who knows what happens next but we are still in there no matter how it feels tonight - and I'm really down too.

He was absolutely garbage today. For all the fuss that was made about him coming I for one cannot believe how poor he looks. Rusty maybe , not fully match fit maybe ... But he offers absolutely nothing that we don't already have ( as others have posted ).
I was hoping for a box to box type midfielder who could chip in with goals as well - how wrong.
He is literally a clone of coutts - in fact based on the first few games he is a poor mans coutts .
His touch is awful, his timing seems all out so he is going for challenges you can see he won't make , he only has one gear that's reverse .
he won't be cheap and now the problem is Adkins HAS to play him .
Very disappointing signing indeed

Landmark signing who represents Adkins to players, board and fans. Seriously important that he does well. Early days yet.

Trouble is with a squad which has so many players wondering whether they will still be here at the start of next season, why should they sign up to the new order?

Him and Coutts could be twins. Twins that hold hands on the pitch as they were never more than 5 yards from each other and both did the exact same side to side passes for 90 minutes.

i used to think there was nothing more unforgivable than a player only giving his all in a contract year. I was wrong
