Do you have friends who are Wednesdayites bragging about their mouthwatering tie against Arsenal?
Have they clearly stated that the Blades didn't get a team of Arsenal's calibre last season?
Have they mentioned that they've sold 35,000+ for the tie?

Well let's clear this solution once and for all shall we? We may not have drawn a team as big/or as big as Arsenal last season in our unforgettable run in the League Cup, instead we enjoyed a SF tie against Spurs. My question is simply; which scenario would you choose? Either a 4th Round tie v Arsenal (Baring in mind, most of the best 11 will be rested) or a SF Second Leg against Spurs? I know what the majority will pick. And believe me, the results of the poll will be posted on Twitter as we have a few Pigs accusing us of being "envious" of their "massive" tie. So what's it going to be?

Isn't this fundamentally flawed in that the poll is on a Sheffield United forum?

The majority of blades will pick Spurs and the majority of pigs will pick Arsenal.

This poll achieves nothing.

It's a no brainer really. The snorters are trying to big this one up simply because they've been well & truly in our shadow where cup runs are concerned and that's a fact. Oh how they would love to get anywhere near us in terms of cup exploits. You can bet your bottom boots that IF they managed to beat Arsenal, their shell suited Neanderthal's would be crowing about it like it was only to be expected.

Here's hoping Arsenal show them what football is all about.

Well you're here for the sake of balance.

You're losing me recently, I can't understand your posts.

Couldn't work out your last reply on that other thread was all about either, still waiting for an explanation.

"Board can't do any more" thread.

Everyone else will get it Barny.

As ever, looking inward isn't your strong point.

You've positioned yourself as S24SU's very own village idiot. The intriguing thing is why anyone would choose to do that?

It's not me who starts all this petty little digs, or makes weird remarks about being "butt fucked".

Some might disagree with my opinions on United, but you don't do yourself any favours in the way you obsess over them.

If it helps, you can tell them I didn't even know they were playing Arsenal.

of course it's biased, it's purpose is just to stick two fingers up at the bragging pigs. Duh! Mind you, not sure I'd put it on twitter if it only has 20 odd votes on it.

I think they have a chance. Nice big plastic crowd full of people who won't be there next week, live on Sky, Arsenal won't start their best XI, big sides don't give a toss about the League Cup...it's all in the mixing pot to be one of those nights that they'll grunt about for the next 5 years.

Won't be watching, won't be listening, won't be checking the score, won't be caring.

It's the biggest game they have had for years so it's natural they are excited. Obviously it isn't as big as a semi final but in fairness Wednesday have always got utter crap draws in the cups. They usually go out to someone like Bolton before they get the chance to play anyone decent in front of a big crowd.

It's frankly ridiculous though to say we are envious of this game considering the cup runs we have had in the past 2 seasons.

Remember that epic battle Pigs had v Arsenal in the FA Cup when there was no limit to the number of replays? How many times did they play each other?

Oh come on...let them have their day. They've had to listen to us go on and on about our cup exploits for years. Let them have their five minutes of glory and then hopefully Aresenal can dump them on their little tushes.

Hang on is the 35,000 a sell out?? don't think it is and i think we sold out BDTBL for the spurs clash, this isn't even up for debate. Our Southampton game was bigger than this and both line ups tonight will show that. How much is a ticket anyway £100??

Four
1-1 (went to that one), 1-1, 3-3 and 2-0 (last two were played at Filbert Street)
You went to watch Wednesday? Explain yourself, Silent Blade! :)
I never knew 'filbert' was a type of nut, until I noticed recently that the streets near Filbert Street are called Almond, Brazil, Hazel and Walnut.

Our FA Cup match at home to Aldershot was postponed due to snow so my dad and I decided to go to S6. The best moment was when both teams came back onto the pitch after half time. Wendy fans in the kop pelted snowballs at Arsenal's keeper, Pat Jennings, who was catching them. Jack Charlton was furious and walked towards the kop to tell the fans to stop throwing the snowballs but there were even more snowballs being pelted at him which stunned him. He turned round in a resigned way and walked slowly back to his dugout. Very funny!

I remember seeing it in the TV highlights.
Fast forward to 5:26
