Just been brought to the attention of this via Diego in the chatbox so I have been over for a read to see what all of the commotion is about.

To make it easy I will screenprint the tweets and replies on here for you, interesting read.

The way I interpret things is that fans have accused the board of selling players and pocketing the proceeds. Jim explains that the sales weren't by decision of the club but the individual players and that it wouldn't have made any business sense to try and keep on to players who don't want to be at the club.

The money has always been made available to inject into the first team immediately.

The club runs at a loss meaning that the board of directors don't make anything out of the club at present.

30 odd tweets saying nothing.

Phipps seems an amiable sort of chap and wants to talk to the fans but his soundbytes have become tiresome now. The reality is we have still not addressed the deficiencies in the team, still not have spent any of the Murphy money and still look a long way off a promotion side. The results and performances have not improved since last season (2 points worse off) and al his keep the faith and stay positive is boring now.

He and the board need to take action now and bring in 2 or 3 quality loan players or we will continue to get average results and at best scrape a play off place and lose again. We have over 2 and a half months till January. If clubs recall players so be it but having a player for a month or two may make the difference in winning games.

There is something amiss definitely. Burn is playing for Fulham now. Hammond doesn't seem to be coming. So move on to other targets. If the best we an do is a defensive-midfield axis of Collins, McGahey, Basham, Baxter and Scougall/Coutts and our scouts cannot find 2 or 3 better players than those then it is a real worry. If they can find them and they should then why are not being brought in?

That's the factor everybody ignores when players leave. That they actually WANT to go.
I don't want anybody at United who doesn't want to be. They perform like wankers and the overall team morale suffers. We've got enough of that with the players we still have at the moment.

As much as I like Phipps as a bloke, I'm beginning to think he talks a lot of flannel.

We run at a loss aside from cup monies but player sales monies aren't mentioned?

I'm sorry but that's disgraceful.

The chairman has put himself in front of the supporters and responded to direct questions with detailed and direct answers.

Thank you Jim.

Thanks for this.

Jim really doesn't help himself or have much of a clue. I read some of his tweets earlier. He was having quite a discussion with one guy. Personally I think he'd be better saying to the fella to come in and talk with him.

I haven't seen the 'abuse' he's talking of, but he's trying to turn some of the legitimate comments into positives - like saying cloughs reign doubled the average tenure at the lane... He misses the point that sacking Clough has not yet seen any progress.

This whole thing of looking long term is then contradicted by saying things like we've not focussed on the JTW as we're looking now... We made monumental errors by looking arrogantly at trying to bring PL players into the club instead of getting two good centre halves in. As I said when Harry was here, we didn't need one pl centre half, we needed two league one centre halves.

He also looks to be putting pressure and blame on Adkins. Hang on, what happened to '#bettertogether' and all that nonsense

Seems to be replaced with '#onwards'... I'd replace that with #fullofshit

I don't want rid of Phipps/ baki/ the prince/ McCabe quite the opposite. I think they're best for the club, however they need to focus on getting us up, not chatting with fans on Twitter and making themselves look like idiots

Genuine question – what sorts of players to you think are actually available to us in the emergency loan window? We can't pick up first teamers in the leagues around us, and it's unlikely that anyone with a vague chance of getting any time in the first team would be available. Burn was on the fringes, and given his game time currently it's now completely understandable why Fulham wouldn't let him go.

The minute we buggered up the permanent deals in the last window, we essentially signed ourselves up to 4 months of struggle. Every now and again a Brayford type is available, but as memory serves he'd have never agreed to join us had it not been for his history with Clough. You're looking at probably 4th/5th choice players that are available and nowhere near the team, or crocks looking to get fit again. Neither good options, and even at Prem/Cham level there would be a question over quality (as McCarthy, who should have ticked all the boxes, proved). Like it not, January's the main opportunity to right the wrongs of August's recruitment.

Is this a mention Pete? Although as I've said on a number of occasions, that many things Jim writes/says can be construed different ways

@james111167 @Kaisufc11 @Lyndontaylor7 @Annies_song_ All proceeds of these sales have been spent and are being spent on first team football.

Sorry you're right, he does.

I'll await to see how much Murphy's fee is spent in January before deciding how much I believe him.

Although, I imagine any fees will be 'undisclosed' so we'll never know, although Jim will be able to hint they were large.

He's also mentioned that they haven't even discussed the JTW as yet, focusing on now! The board need to hurry up then. When does the window close?

Jim Phipps ‏@JamesDPhipps 3h3 hours ago

@Kaisufc11 @Dingledog @SUSA_org We have not talked through a JTW plan. Focus now is on addressing present needs.

I believe that the fees are all spent on the first team and I really couldn't care less about undisclosed fees. It's not something which I need to know.

Does it matter that Che Adams cost £10k or £600k, same for Billy sharp and Matty Done? The important thing is that they do their job.

But what I don't like is that Jim tries to be clever and say 'yes we've spent the money on the football side' - when this is wages of Collins or paying off Clough and Weir then it's not really taking the club #forward and it makes me not want to #followfollowfollow

I'm sorry but that's disgraceful.

The chairman has put himself in front of the supporters and responded to direct questions with detailed and direct answers.

Thank you Jim.

Disgraceful?

Performances and results like yesterday are more akin to this 'term'.

You misunderstood my point. He continually puts himself out and answers questions which is fine but when are we actually going to see any action. When will we improve the team by signing better players than the ones we currently have. My point remains in simple terms we want to see action not words.

I used to enjoy listening to Jim and would read a lot of his tweets/interviews but the boards complete inability to properly improve the playing side and his 'keep the faith' 'stay positive' claptrap is becoming a bit tiresome now as we continue to muddle through.

I stand by my point I made end of last season, that I genuinely believe the Prince, Baka and Phipps wont be here in 2 years time. We will see. Just my opinion.

So correct me if im wrong but to summarise
The prince came in and bought 50 % of the football club for a pound
Mccabe wiped his debts although we seem to be paying him x ammount million a year in interest and he moved the ground and training ground into sufc plc so he retains possesion
This debts were wiped on the understanding that the prince would invest in the playing side

So a kitty of 20 million was put aside and this has been used to cover losses (including interest payments ) and the only money so far being put in for transfers and wages is from.player sales and cup runs

Sorry but mccabe must be salesman of the year and these bozos must have the business acumem of an oak tree

I agree we made a mess of the last window and we should have more potential to get better players in January but do you think carrying on with the likes of Collins, McEveley, McGahey, Scougall, Coutts, Basham, Baxter as our spine defence-midfield is preferable to taking action now? Even some of the 4th/5th choice would be better than Collins/McEveley/McGahey/Scougall. You might have to be cute if going for other League One players or League Two and get them on loan for a sizeable loan fee and then complete the full transfer in January. Money talks.

There are still plenty of players in Prem and champ even reserve better than those above (granted Edgar not worked)

The option of sitting tight will see us a lot further away from the top 2 than 5 points when January comes around (you an quote me on that if we don't make any loan signings). We have to act now. Defeats at Port Vale, v Colchester and Bury and drawing at 10 man Oldham show this side is not good enough and has to be improved NOW. 3 more months would be way too late no matter how better it is to act in January. We were miles behind last time we did that and it will be similar again this time.

Hold On Guys ! Everything is alright
We now have Lee Turnbull - Top Player Scout - He'll find some players for us when he's settled into his job!
His record at present is not as good as Nigel Clough's brother Simon !
Another Adkins Jobs for the Boys methinks !

Bullshit alert by the way....

This mornings rumour is that Hammond is at shirecliffe..

Hope it's not bullshit, cause it needs to happen and sharpish...

From a usual source on Facebook, a thread on vip blades..

But this isn't Jim pulling the wool over our eyes Swiss mate, it is the painful truth. We are renowned for making mistake after mistake and in the modern game of football every mistake you make generally has financial repercussions as we all know. So in theory the money is being injected back into the football side of things, ok it may not be totally in a manner that we would like all of the money to be injected but never the less it is necessary.

Weir was a bad decision but when it comes to Clough the fans have to be held slightly accountable as it was tirades of abuse on twitter aimed at Jim and Sela Baki that helped but the manager off the cliff.

As fans we only chose to see what we want to see because we all have our idea of how be want the club to be run. We see our counterparts doing impressive things and we want to emulate this. As some fans point out, the board have bankrolled ambitious signings in Brayford and Sharp and we have signed others as well. Of course we want more and the team needs more you can't question this in in the slightest.

I can't sit back however and say the board are completely useless and haven't shown any ambition because the simple fact is that the have shown ambition, they have however made mistakes and we keep having to pick up the pieces as well.

That's the thing. As much as Clough made some awful buys and tied us into contracts for 2-3 years...Adkins business has been awful really.

Failed to move on any of the liabilities from last year (that is easier said than done) and sold Murphy (maybe had little choice in this)

Signings other than jury out on Sharp have been really poor.

Sharp - Scored a few and his performances been decent but missed lots of guilt edged chances (Colchester, Port Vale, Oldham)
Sammon - Not even a first team regular starter - had 2 or 3 good games but a lot more really poor ones. Cant see him being here long term
Woolford - Been dreadful. To the point he has struggled to even make the bench even when we have so many injuries
Edgar - Started well but been really poor most of his spell and now out injured

Well they're as obsessed as us, so who knows weather it's true or not, but I live in the hope that people put their reputations on the line when making claims, hope it's true is the quick answer, but it might be bs, rumours are just rumours, but if I was the board this morning I would have seen enough to know that we need new blood now, wouldn't surprise me if it was true, or not..

Just watching Derby and wolves, we really need to step up should we get up, wolves haven't been bad, but they're 4-1 down having saved a Martin penalty as well..
