This phrase, keep in touch till January when we'll reassess the squad we have.

Shouldn't we be reassessing now? Before we're out of it by January?

I'm not sure why we won't go into the loan market (i don't believe that, there arent anyone available, clubs won't let players leave etc) because other clubs in and around League One have brought in some very capable players (better than we have) in this loan window, but for whatever reason we can't do that.

Skint?
Board fed up of spending?
Adkins just being reluctant?

I genuinely believe that the board thinks that we have a squad good enough to win this league. We don't, we need centre halves desperately.

It's been established already that the closer it is to the end of the season, the more points you get for winning games.

We're currently in the phase of fucking up so that we can learn from our mistakes and be stronger when it comes to those '6 pointers' etc.

I think we are back in "reduce the wage bill and size of the squad before recruiting" territory.

Unfortunately that won't mean getting rid of the dross, it'll be selling Done in January so we can get a couple of players on loan in February.

None of the main players on the board know the first thing about football. To be fair to Phipps and The Artist Who Says He's A Prince they admit this. McCabe really thinks he knows about football though

I genuinely think the board think we have enough. If not they would surely be going all out for signings. All this "Not the right players" nonsense is taking the piss out of the fans in the most blatant way. Doyle would get into our current side. Are we saying there is no one we could get on loan for a few months as good as Doyle? No one better than Collins?

Promotion quite clearly isn't a necessity to the powers that be. Obviously they would love us to go up but they aren't that bothered if we don't. They can't be . You wouldn't sell your best player every season then not replace them if you were genuinely desperate to go up. I'm really not sure what The Prince is getting out of it to be honest. He puts money in each year but not enough to actually change anything. It's strange

If we're needing to sell/move players on to bring players in, i could think of 5 players off the bat that we should be moving out.

Cuvelier
McNulty
Scougall
J Wallace
Woolford

If we don't bring in at least 2 new loan signings before January, we're not going up.

Quote me on that.

I have never understood the reason for the Prince being here, they said they were here to make money, but only teams who are consistently in the Champions League make a year on year profit so I don't understand how they thought they were going to make any money, even established Premier League clubs of comparable size to us, Stoke, Palace etc only just about break even... What is the long term plan.. Is there one?

Even bloody Rob Staton on Radio Sheffield is saying "if ever the board are to put money in then now is the time" due to the weakness of the league.

Everyone can see it. Apart from the board. Either that or they have no money and if it's the latter just say it and stop lying to everyone

Then again he has also just said "Wednesday were victorious against Hull" so I don't know what to believe anymore

They were clearly sold a pup by McCabe, he told them we were a Premier league club in waiting that only need minimal investment to get back into the Premier League, once there they could sell their share onto another owner and collect a huge profit on the money spent... It's not worked out that way..

Also take into account that every decision needs to be signed off by two factions of the club, such is the difficulty of split ownership.

That's the only logical explanation. He is good at bullshitting McCabe in fairness to him

Anyway McCabe was in China with George Osbourne the other week, just wait until some of that investment starts to be pumped into The Lane, I am surprised we haven't attempted to break into the Chinese market before....

..... Oh! Hang on a minute.

"Keep in touch"

In the 3rd tier of football against the might of Gillingham, Walsall, Burton and Bury it's frightening how low supporters expectations have fallen.

In the past four seasons whenever Blades have 'phoned Radio Sheffield the presenters have always defended the club by quoting the fact 'we are in the play-offs' or 'only so many points from automatic'.

Listening to Praise and Grumble tonight there seems to be a shift in opinion.

As Roy mentioned above even they are finding this 'long stretch' in the third division a little tiresome.

Thought this was a Clough statement last season?

Remember him telling the fans how we would be stronger after Xmas/Jan window and we all know how that turned out

It get's tiresome hearing the same shit on a different day time after time after time

The deficiencies are plain to see and the problems need addressing now not when it may be too late

Adkins harping on about only bringing in players that improve us is an obvious thing to say. So do we take it that he and his staff, together with the board are incapable of sourcing and completing a deal for a player that will improve our defence/midfield?

Just come clean Adkins, because in this case bullshit doesn't baffle everyone's brains

To be honest I was quite surprised by their attitude but I suppose there are only so many excuses you can give without knowing you are coming across as ridiculous. Even the usually optimistic Blade callers were slating United tonight. I think there has been a definite shift of opinion about the board from the majority of fans. We aren't at the protest stage but there is an awful lot of anger about

Amazingly we approach 20,000 gates week in week out. Some bullshit does work , clearly.

Unfortunately the only result of that anger will be The Prince chucking the towel in, the £5m a year that is keeping us ticking over disappearing and seeing us back 100% in the loving arms of the McCabe family.

See my deja vu thread other day the same old shit been spouted as last season,

I'm not suggesting that would be the way forward but I can see the fans turning on the board before Adkins. All the frustration and anger is going to be aimed in some direction however misguided it may be

We are in the same boat as when the Prince came?

Shudder
