He sounds utterly deflated after yet another defeat. I wouldn't expect any less but it was a throwback to Weir's last few interviews.

It begs the question, will the pressure of being at a big club like ours and the inevitable criticism following bad results get the better of him? Certainly sounds like it's getting that way from his interviews.

If the automatics become out of sight at any point during this season, and the accusations of the board not giving enough support are true, I can honestly see him walking away and calling it a day.

If he hasn't got the mental strength to handle the job, he should walk away now. He has been in football long enough to know that few managers get any proper backing from our board. I cannot see for one minute, that Nigel will walk away from the job Barny.

I appreciate your views, and a valid explanation of your views, unlike above ^.

The way this is going, he will be sadly sacked. Where is the Blades owners not been in UK again? who seem has lost his passion.

I don't think he'd walk away because of results / performances alone, but I equally don't think he'll allow his reputation to be ripped apart due to the board breaking any promises or overriding him in sales etc.

Adkins is a winner and likes a challenge.

Unlike some of our fans on here there's no way he would ever walk away.

So pleased that we haven't got people at the club like Barney.
A bit of adversity and he would pack it in and run away.
We need people like Adkins at the club up for the fight.
Still plenty of time yet and we with 2 or 3 of our best players due back soon.

That's Brayford, Done and Adams.
3 players who would get in any other team in league 1.

He seemed to handle the pressure atSouthampton well enough.

A manager of his experience doesn't just walk away after a few losses.
Let's not be hysterical.
What is it with posters mis-reading my posts. 'If the automatics become out of sight at any point' being the key phrase here.

He won't walk away and promotion, at least via the play offs, ought to remain a possibility for most of the season. If we do fail to go up this season, I hope we don't sack him. Jim Phipps is on the record as saying that we don't want to be known as a sacking club and managers need to be given time to build their own team. That was before we sacked Clough of course.

If we do sack Adkins at the end of the season, we may as well get Warnock and Blackwell back and try to kick and fight our way out of this league.

Yeah its all barneys fault we keep not turning up every week

This thread is an insult to his professional integrity.:mad::mad:

If I was him Id have probably not taken the job in the first place. He has had no real backing or support from the board.

The only good job the board have done is being able to convince him to join us in the first place.

Promotion or not, I expect Adkins should be given at least two seasons. We cannot keep chopping and changing. We end up with a mix of players from the old manager and new.

I wish you'd walk away.
