Would a non league team be more excited to play PNE (a team what had success like SU before most living people were born) or Swansea City(an established Prem Team, recently won a trophy, great players).

It's a pretty simple answer. I doubt a non league team players would even know PNE were the first invincibles...they definitely know Swansea are a Prem team and won a trophy recently

Hey...FattyFoulke thinks it does.

Wasn't our last trophy in the 1930s? I'm not sure that's going to be a winning hand in a 'my club is bigger than your club' competition. South Shields were in the 1st division at that point! And Bradford Park Avenue were still a league club!
South Shields were in division 2 between 1919 and 1928 but never in top tier. Bradford Park Avenue were in the top tier in 1914-15, 1919-20 and 1920-21. I saw them play Chesterfield in division 4 at Saltergate on Good Friday 1970

Put the shovel down and stop digging.

Non league clubs would certainly not give a fuck if they drew Bradford in the cup playing in front of around 8000 fans

And while sat there wondering where the other 10,000 "season ticket" holders where. Am glad that BigBantam not been arguing that season ticket sales are an element in "big club" mentality, or he would appear to be a greater big twat he has so far, rather than the lonely teenager he obviously is.

The attendance last time Sheffield United had a home FA Cup game 1st round game was 5,000 against Crewe you won 2-0.

You ever thought of going on Master mind specialist subject reading random stuff off the Internet?

Hes a grunter

I think you are right, as he's more likely to have his inferiority comples to another West Yorkshire side rather than us, he is clearly the curly tailed fan of that lot who have an inferiority complex of us.

Hope he has some tissues to clean up before his mum brings him his "supper".

A poster above said no teams would be 'up for' a tie at Valley Parade in front of 8,000 fans. I just said it would be less at Sheffield United judging by the past

So basically we've got a socially maladjusted little virgin googling the history of Sheffield United whilst telling us nobody cares about the history of Sheffield United.

We've got a special kind of dimwit right here.

Fuck off son, go and have a wank over our prestigious football club.......if you can find the tweezers.

I started watching us when we were in division 4 , we dicked it in one attempt
Since then ive seen us in all 4 divisions , this thread wasnt about the size of the club or its history its about NOW and where we are NOW sunday the 27 th sept

Not where we will be in may or where we were in 2007 or what crowds we have got but where we are now

6th place in league one behind 5 teams who wouldnt look out of place in non league football
Its great that we won by thats the reality

If this season so far ( or the previous 4) is anything to go by then the consistency needed to get us above them wont come

Ive been continually shouted down from when I said letting maguire go and not securing coady would mean a play off failure by people saying the exact same things they are saying now

Its like chuffing ground hog day

Are you Man United or something? Honestly, this is unbelievable. For the majority of my lifetime, Coventry City have been above Sheffield United, so if they wouldn't look out of place in non league, then I'd suggest your level is a few leagues lower

Here we are folks...

Last 50 year League table, League 1 clubs:

Coventry City - 15th rank - average position 22.2 - currently a MASSIVE 46 places behind natural position in last 50 years

Sheffield United - 29th rank - average position 30.0 - 20 places behind natural position in last 50 years

Bradford City - 60th rank - average position 59.5 - 6 places ahead natural position in last 50 years

Yes, you are right Sheffield United fans...you deserve to be in the Premier League

Tell me Fatty and co.

A non league team draws Coventry City or Pompey in the cup, what would the reaction be??

'Oh, great draw, remember Coventry winning the Cup in 87, one of the best finals, spent ages in the top division too.'

'Pompey! They were in the top division not too long ago for a long time and won the FA Cup and got to another final! Didn't they play in Europe against AC Milan too?!'

Or Sheffield United...

'Ohhh, ehhh, well they were in the top division for a long time and won the FA Cup when my great grandad was alive...anyone remember it lads?...'

No one cares about 100 years ago. Sorry to break it to you
In the last couple of seasons we've had Spurs and Charlton fans coming on this very forum and praising our club/fans and hoping that we get back to where we belong, which is the Championship atleast, now i took what they said with great pleasure and they clearly knew what they were talking about ;) you on the other hand are out of your depth here, trying to belittle us, jog on mate.

Give it a rest lad , I would say we are a top twenty club the stats back me up on that
Now fuck off

I have graced the Coventry City forum before after we played them before with my intelligence...fantastic people and no we 'how far we've fallen, Bradford beat us'...maybe more realistic fans
