Take Wigan out of the post , and that could have be written , in September 14.

Saying that , lets hope its applicable to Setember 15.

UTB

to be fair weve spent millions on players sincet then and will start to reap rewards when most come back from injury

Liverpool as an example , sturridge back they win after having no clue how to score

There's so much about Sheffield United that makes us a big club other than our attendance.

It saddens me that we have people so unambitious to suggest otherwise.

we are full of ambition but after 50 years of not winning a bean , other than a div 4 title you realise we shouldnt imagine we are superior
leave that to the deluded in S6
our other claim of winning the yorkshire cup in scarborough looks a tad desperate

My first decade saw us in the top flight 8 years we were good really
but its been slim pickings since 74
we have a good league record 6th best in the country , but rarely in a 46 game season do we manage to be consistant enough
last 4 seasons wev been 3 5 5 and7 th winning more than we lose but not quite doing enough
says it all

Well, it's not success.Which is what it's all about.

What precisely is it that makes us a big club other than size?

Like what?

6th behind 5 of the shittest teams ive ever seen us below

We should be romping this league

It's on a par with the season Donny got promoted. On paper this is the weakest the division there has been for a while.

And the topic of today's sermon is thou must not enjoy a victory on a Saturday night. Zzzzzzzz

We have been more successful in the past than Coventry. Won more trophies, had bigger crowds, have bigger crowds.

You can't just pick and choose which history you want to go with.

I can't believe it's an argument on whether we are bigger than Coventry City or not...

What?

We're probably in the top 20 biggest clubs off the top of my head.

We should be higher than where we currently are based on the potential of our club.

But be humble, and have respect for clubs who we are competing with at this moment, we're all on the same level right now and if they're doing better than us, it's on their own merit.

Come on Pete you and Judge treat a Blades win with as much relish as I feel when I see blood on the toilet paper. ;)

To be fair, that's nonsense.
Just like most of the arguments about what a tiny, shit club we are.

No enthusiasm, optimism or elation allowed. Not on Petes watch.

"Burton have yet to suffer injuriers or suspensions"

Obviously those things won't effect our key players at all... How many yellows is Basham on at the moment?

Never have I read such twisting of what I've actually said or complete bullshit.

Congratulations chaps, tonight you've really outdone yourselves.

If by 'truth' you mean twisted, invented, made up, bullshit, then yes.

Go on then...but it was against 10 men..we conceded a goal..they were in the bottom 3...nothing about..WAHAY 3 POINTS

True supporters love a victory. Not the yeah but..yeah but crap

Neither of which I've actually said. Unless you can find it and quote it?

So as I said, invented, made up, twisted, bullshit.

I remember the days when you "merely expressed your concerns" 24/7

You have moved on

How about my life time watching them .I didnt get to pick or choose it like every one else during the psst 60 years. Our trophy wins are like bible stories .related to us by shepherds around at that time

To be fair, that's nonsense.

Nobody has said we're tiny or shit.

I want you to tell us why you think we're still a big club? What do you base it on? All I can think it is is that we get high attendances in the third division. And we won the cup ninety years ago. Enlighten me please.

well if calls them utter shit and theyve had 6 times the seasons in the top than we have had in the last 40 years what does that make us
people have to grasp reality
weve had 5 seasons in the top flight in the last 40 years
2 were relegation seasons
2 we just avoided relegation
1 season we finished mid table , and that after being bottom till xmas
and judge say we are bigger than most clubs, on what basis
we arent ought special or huge are we

we were big in 60s and 1890 s
but bury were big then too
I never said we were bigger than most clubs
But as happy as i was about a good win yesterday my heart sank when i saw that league table

I agree mate ,the division seems to get weaker every year and it frustrates me that we cant take it by the balls and smash it

Its nothing to do with club size ,its to do with expectation
The signings we made and the players we already have should be more than goid enough if they played with a bit of heart

We always seem to be two or three signings away

We try to make these signings and fail and go with what weve got and fail

Throw in the annual sell our best player and dont replace him party and its not difficult to see why we flounder around behind teams who arent as good but want it more than us

Maybe our players come on here and read some of the fans oaltry expectations of the small average club they support and perform accordingly

FFS Burton top of the league ........................ the only surprise is some Clough apologist has not yet posted on here that it is all down to negative Nigel's previous work with Burton.

The Burton chairman has gone on record thanking Nigel Clough for laying the foundations for what Burton are doing now.

There is nothing apologetic about facts.
