Where Should Matt Done Play?

Either on the wing or as a striker works well for him because he has a shitload of pace, decent crossing ability and can score goals.

Although with Sammon and Sharp you would have to say out on the wing for now.

And this was the reason for my OP, bc I'm not convinced he's that much use out on the wing.

His best position is putting the ball in the net, but others already have that job. In particular Sharp. For me he's a natural back up or even replacement for Sharp, but I can't see Adkins replacing Sharp with Done, and I'm not sure they'd want to jobshare.

I'm interested to see where Adkins will play Done, and what he will get out of him.

If ever there was a game that reinforced the points I have made on this thread, yesterday was that game.

UTB

Based on last season's from I'd play Done in front of either of the lads who played yesterday.

Mind, I'd have had Clarke ahead of those two. And maybe Pope.

Should be our main striker, Done was outstanding last season for us, he harassed the defenders and scored plenty of goals.
I am concern that with Sharp signing we are going to drop Done on the wing or even the bench, and so far I think that would be unwise as Sharp is just not having the impact upfront yet, (I know he has scored a couple, but throughout the game he is not doing enough for me) every home game so far I have forgotten he was on the field.
Sammon ... well seems like a decent hold up player but clearly lacking the finishing aspect that a striker needs.
Still its early days. ;)

Done definitely doesn't have a shitload of pace. He's energetic and busy but he's not that quick. The only two positions for him are left wing or up front IMO, his best position is up front though but not playing with Sharp. It's going to be hard to fit him in. When we get our best attacking full backs on the pitch playing him in a front three might be a possibility if they can offer the width.
