CONFIRMED [OFF] Colchester game in doubt?

Would comfortably beat Colchester. Unless NEW happens to be a Nyron Nosworthy/Jordan Stewart hybrid.

Funny thing is in 2013 , our equaliser in a draw at lane was a weak shot from Harry M , dropped clownishly into the net by Colchester keeper. Wonder that Weir didn't try to sign him.

I would have played it, we now really could do with winning at Swindon, a defeat would mean almost certainly Someone Seven or so points clear of us and playing catch up.

If we are worried about being players short against Colchester then we aren't serious about top two
 
maybe best being cautious, if we played it and dropped points people would complain. I don't like building up a backlog of fixtures but then we're already out of one cup.
 
Could have been the week after I'm at a bloody wedding for the bury game...That'll be 3 weeks without the blades :mad: .... Last season I'd have been glad of the break!
 
All depends on the result against Swindon as to whether this is a good decision or not, As Zablade points out a loss and we will probably be 3 wins adrift of top spot before we play again.

Having games in hand sounds good but only if you win them, we have slipped up in previous seasons with games in hand caused by the cup runs, I would have taken the risk and played it , not least because it would have given us two home games in a row at home early season, now this one will be rescheduled to a Cold Tuesday in November / Decmeber, plus there are more International weeks coming up in the Autumn which now no doubt means more postponed games and even more catch up.
 
two more international breaks as well before christmas, October 5-13th and November 9-17th.

good, I hadn't checked what was actually scheduled. Can't get to tuesday games and would hate to have to miss Southend as well as Colchester!
 
I'm guessing this will be rescheduled to a mid-week game, right? I always struggle to get to them! :mad:
 
i find it very strange that colchester has been postponed earlier i saw on the back page of the star he was quoted saying
"If its possible to play then we’ll do it rather than call the game off"
“I don’t like doing that. I prefer playing games. We’ll discuss things more and see. Ideally, though, we’ll be playing.”
"This is why we've a squad, its there to be used & should be used"

so i wonder what changed adkins mind

If I have my glass half empty hat on, I wonder if he was expecting a couple of players that are not now coming. For example a central defender who could have stood in for Edgar

think it would yes, doubt there are any free Saturdays. I'm in the same boat as you and had already bought tickets. Rang the ticket office this morning (local call rate now and answered really quickly which was good) and I can't believe I have to post the tickets back to S2 for a refund. Given they can now cancel tickets electronically when they get lost in the post this seems bonkers.

I can only think it's to verify that you actually want to cancel them. Otherwise could a 'mate' phone up and cancel them 'for a laugh'?
 
I'm sure this postponement is in part due to making them travel midweek, never as easy as a Saturday 3.00 pm kickoff. Could also be because Porter is injured and we want him to be available to take the applause of his most staunch supporters.

actually I think that's probably it. Cancelling and getting a refund is a bit more drastic than just cancelling/reissuing tickets that get lost in the post.
 
We'll be without Baxter and Wallace until their suspensions run out whoever we play

Let the team regroup let Adkins work on the training ground with them, come out fresh as daisies next match, hope no injuries to any of our internationals
