There's nothing quite like approaching a game and actually trying to win the bloody thing rather than draw it and "nick a goal at the death".

We're 2-0 up, away from home, against a well fancied team, in the dying minutes, and we're STILL attacking!

How amazingly, brilliantly, refreshingly, fantastically, eye-openly, bottom clinchingly, ball grabbingly fantastic compared to the absolute dirge served up by the previous Nigel.

Nigel is dead. Long live Nigel!

2-0 up, last five minutes, listening on the radio and Edgar was in their box, wasn't he?

Agree with everyword of that! Have a massive like you Bladesmad deserter!

It's a complete turnaround. Unbelievable after that result at Gillingham.

Feel good at the minute, very positive, 1against in 4,Edgar has been a breath of fresh air
I feel the old buzz coming back, like we had in the cup runs two years ago where we were rocking. But we've got that buzz in the league where it matters. Momentum builds optimism, optimism builds belief.
Carry on with this lads and we are laughing -brayford, done, Kennedy, flynn all still to return.
The future is bright.

Harris and Coutts, too. Two players who can really thrive under NA

Hi Pete

good to see you being positive about the game again. Your criticism of Clough on bladesmad was always measured but depressing to read a number of posters (zablade was another) finding the blades hard work to watch.

Is this a permanent transfer away from bladesmad or are you giving both a try. I simply can't get the site to work anymore and I have to say there are 2 or 3 posters I'll not be missing

I seriously fell out of love with football under the lesser Clough. So happy to watch us taking the game to teams in this like we should do.

I'm still looking at both forums, have been registered on this one for years but more to just read than contribute but plan on contributing more on here from now on (sorry...!)

What a great day out, fantastic support and an excellent performance from the eleven on the pitch. JMac and Billy were the stand out performers for me today but everyone played well (once Reed stopped giving the ball away 25 yards from our goal). Proud to be on the road with the Blades!

Yes I certainly found it hard work last season, it was getting to the stage where on a Friday evening I was thinking "oh God we are at home again tomorrow aren't we?" And I've never had that attitude even when we collapsing in under Adams.

Adkins has turned the attitude of the club and players around 180 degrees and now I'm guttered we aren't playing next Saturday.

As for Bladesmaders being on here more, the footymad boards are virtually unusable on match days, so although I will continue to post on both boards but there really is only one board for match days and that's this one.

Great to see you on here Pete, one of the better posters from Bladesmad. I always have a look at their board but can understand the frustration of posters at the minute, snails pace, annoying adverts etc. I see one poster has described us on S24 as PC dicks, charming !:(, we're all Blades aren't we ?.

Teams are scared of teams that come at them, and make them worry.

Any league winner wins because they go a season going at teams, and win matches because they're out classing and out fighting their opposition.

No team ever won a title playing for 0-0's.

We can well and truly do the former all season with the size squad we have.

I know a lot of people want us to establish a spine, and I'm sure we'll bring in a couple to improve us, but the spine of our team is already extremely solid at this level.

Edgar, Basham, Sharp
Collins, Reed, Sammon
Wallace? Baxter?

We potentially have several high quality spines, like some sort of obscure deep sea fish.

Every game at the Lane was almost identical last season, you knew what to expect.

It was like watching a game of chess.
We would usually control the first half with good poseession and to be fair to Clough we did play a good passing game. It was actually quite similar to Dave Weir. We often looked a good side.

It would end 0-0 and I would clap them off at half time as we'd looked so comfortable
But then a mate would say for all our great play around the centre circle how many chances did we create.
The answer would always be 1 half chance created in the first half.

In the 2nd half we'd always raise the tempo and go from 2nd gear into 3rd gear.
We'd still not create many clear chances and always look dodgy in defence.

We'd go 1 goal up and then we'd go from 3rd gear back down to 2nd gear and try to see the game out 1-0. We'd defend in numbers sitting deep and invariably the opposition would equalise in the last 5 minutes.

Last season was like watching a bunch of friendlies where the team was given specific instructions to keep possession, hence we had loads of players who seemed content with passing it sideways all the time.

Another wierd issue was that Clough was a massive believer in squad rotation so when anyone played well then they tended to be dropped and rested the next match. We rarely played the same 11 in succession.

You noticed, then? ;)

The wisdom of geese versus the wisdom of a slow loris.

As Adkins says you need "75 - 85 goals" to achieve something. It's not the full story but it's the clear intent.

I'm so grateful the dour idiot is gone.

Isn't football a joyful game when you attack ?

Long live Positive.
