Very early days but, with every passing game, it's becoming apparent that the differences between the 2 Nigels are stark. NA = calm, measured encouragement and advice from the technical area. NC = 'Couldn't give a fuck' attitude, leaning on the corner of the dugout interspersed with irrational rants at the fourth official.

NC = blatant favouritism and removing players (McNults, J C-R etc.) who don't toe the (Clough) party line. NA = 'Dances With Geese'!

Well it is half-eight on a Saturday night!

The signs are very good, even at this early stage. It seems like Gillingham was just a horrendous opening day blip, in the league we haven't looked like losing since.

Hopefully we can strengthen with a CDM, a winger and maybe another CB. Add to that players returning from injury and we should be perfectly set up.

The key ( as Staton said on RS earlier) is who can you see in the league stopping us? Not too many I reckon. Wigan & Millwall will get better for sure and I can see Cov and Burton being hard games but other than that....

Great performance and win. Big praise to Adkins of course for game plan but also to some I have been critical of; namely Mceveley (who apparently played Byrne really well) and also Reed who by all accounts had an excellent game.

All this talk from Cooper and on the forums worries me. Rather be talked of us as a promotion side but we must not get complacent. Which is why it is key we sign a central midfielder and centre back and maybe even another winger next few days. Definitely need 2 more. There are a number that proved they were not good enough last year and we need that bit more quality in key areas.

Shame next week is off but right call, we could have 'international four' + Done, Brayford, Kennedy, Flynn, Harris and 2 more new players for a rearranged game in say November on a cold Tuesday night when they will bring about 53 fans and we should have it much easier than we would have with above missing. No brainer for me. Nice little break for rest of first team (none will play at Hartlepool I feel) to have 10 days and then key men like Basham, Adams, Sharp, Sammon etc can go again v Bury.
