... we've won and played much better without Murphy. 3 games without, 3 wins

Is it because:
A) he was a hogger
B) we relied on him too much
C) it's allowed players like Adams to show his true talent
D) none of the above
E) it's just down to Adkins

It's probably because we've put a better player in his position. Much like one or two other players still at the club he got much more adoration than his level of consistency deserved.

In the land of the blind...

Though in fairness, in a better side he might be able to show far greater consistency. And if he does, the talent certainly isn't lacking.

Us doing better because we are without Murphy is total nonsense.

Would Adams have played Saturday if Murphy wasn't sold? Maybe but we will never know what the outcome would have been anyway.

I do agree with you but there is an argument that if murphy had played in the last two league games knowing he was about to leave then it would have been like playing with 10men.

With all the attacking options at the club when we sold him I wasn't too phased to be honest.

Often we were very one dimensional with Murphy and if he had a bad game; we had a bad game. Our good play from the midfield to attack was all through Murphy or the other flank and often looked disjointed.

Now, with two upfront we have better cohesion between midfield and attack with Sammon and Sharp's holdup play being the difference.

For once we've actually got goals coming out of our arse so Murphy won't be a massive loss.

Sharp, Adams, Sammon, Baxter, Done, McNulty...

There are a couple of others still with us. Fan favourites and I really cannot understand why. Good lads, not terrible players but no better than average and very inconsistent.

On the other hand we have Jay McEveley who gets fierce criticism for having a couple of bad games every 3 months.

Our supporters confuse me.

Last season he was about our one and only attacking threat, it's why he was knackered by March.

Has the team looked better without Murphy? Or has it looked better without Coutts, Alcock and Mr. "You start with a point and aim not to lose it" in charge?
