Once a Blade, always a daft ****
.................. according to The Star, Nigel Clough had drafed his plans to sell Murphy this window anyway, stating Che's rapid progress meant he could use the Murphy fee elsewhere

I would argue there's another reason why consideration should be given as to whether Murphy should've been sold and I mentioned this in a thread on the rumour board weeks ago and that was that he's been less than average for too long.
Every player has an off day, but when players begin having an off month or two as the case has been with Murphy from as far back as the last couple of months of last season, then the question has to be asked as to whether his contribution is worthy of a start and whether ultimately, the club should cash in while they can
I like Murphy as a player, but only when he is on top of his game. When he isn't, he's pretty anonymous, has little influence on a game and arguably shouldn't be on the pitch. (true of course for all the players)
I stick with what I said yesterday, that as long as Adkins is given the fee to spend and as long as Adkins does not go all sentimental bringing in players that were good (for him) 7-8 years ago such as Woolford and Sharp then perhaps we can actually move forward as a club
