Hello. I'm new to posting. Have lurcked .

I fancy this season is pivotal in the "steel city" power struggle. Prince v tunapigking, Wednesday's great gamble v our tried and tested approach....

We could be in the same league next season...Or still one apart, or (heaven forbid, technically) two....

I reckon someone's going to be dissapointed in the end.

Best not be us.....

We Blades are a volatile bunch, the mood can change very quickly with the circumstances.

My concern is that the biggest feel-good factor we've had in years could quickly turn to anger and negativity if we aren't hammering teams straight off the bat.

By contrast, when Wilson took charge the atmosphere was toxic at first yet we went on to have the best season we've had in this league.

So I don't know what to expect really, just got to keep the faith.

He used to be shite, but now he's alright...and now he's white again. Didn't deserve the boot.

What's driving me to post is that, on the brink of the season, I have some genuine hope that we might redress the balance now these things seem to be behind us.

But, as a Blade, I've learnt to distrust those feelings.

Lastly, in the end, promotion is more important than local bickering.

But I'd like to have it and eat it.....

First of all......welcome to the forum Valleyblade !!!

As for "someone being disappointed in the end"................if the history of football in this city tells us anything it's that we will BOTH be disappointed in the end !!! That said...........I feel we are in for a decent season.....the pre-season signs are good and with a couple of additions I believe we will possess both the squad and managerial nous to have a great go at getting out of this league.

The owner of the other lot on the other-hand has taken a massive gamble....a new manager with little or no experience of the specific demands of football in England coupled with a ticketing policy designed to work if..and only if... the pigs are successfull and are challenging for promotion.

My recommendation.............strap-in............this could be a white-knuckle ride !!!

UTB !!!!

There is a possibility of both promotions Wednesday will be difficult as championship so tough & manager such a unknown. Im not as optimistic as other fans it like majority have forgotten how awful our defending was last 3mths of season & nobody be brought in v Newcastle defence at times was still suspect

If ..... the pigs could fly and get promoted ...... and United die and get relegated ..... it would be three and I would shoot myself. Thankfully I am relatively confident neither of those two things is going to happen. Hopefully there will still be a division difference between us and the pigs as they get relegated and we get promoted and true order is restored :D
