Always did like Luton Shelton. Don't think he was given enough time, just like Ahmed Fathi. Though maybe premiership was too high for both at the time.

IMO 2no bad buys by Warnock . It was purchasing fringe players , that cost us big time . The championship was too high for them , never mind the premiership. Wrong place at the wrong time . Luton shelton would be a step back in time . I dont want the club to go there.

All in the past .

Faster than a speeding bullet. His game at Man u was epic. I thought he had something and was a shame it didn't work out.

After his AMI I think we should bring Nade back as well. Sheldon And Nade would tear this league a new one.

With Bruno Riberio pulling the strings in midfield, michal Vonk in defence and Frank Talia in goal we would be unstoppable

Pinchy I agree with lots of what you say but that just isn''t true. I've lived away from Sheffield for 5 years and can confirm there's no life away from Shoreham.
Shelton played like 2 games for us how can you know if he was good or not? The games he played he looked good.

Not that i think he''d do a job for us now, but why say he was shit when he ripped man utd apart at their place in virtually the only game we saw him in?

I saw a lot more than that! He was indeed very fast. Unfortunately he and the football were complete mysteries to each other. He was fast, that's for sure. Sadly, his legs were twice as fast as his feet and a hundred times quicker than his brain.

Anyway, moving on....Can anyone think of a player with no previous connection with SUFC who we should gerrin?

No? Thought not. OK, let the nonsense continue....

The above reminds me of John Francis

I can't believe anyone is arguing against Shelton being terrible!

His performance against Manchester United is the most overrated I have ever seen from a United player. Sure he caused problems with his pace and should have had a penalty but it was painfully obvious that he lacked any sort of footballing intelligence and awareness. I said after that game on the old BU site that he wouldn't make it after that game and was called a 'miserable pessimist ' by one Nostradamus or other.

Shelton needed props to score FFS! Awful player.

He made Wes Brown look a bit shaky, twice. World beater.

Brown could have saved getting out of puff and just let him through on goal; he'd have tripped up as soon as he got near the ball.

Shelton was awful first time round. He ain't improved since.

There is life (and footballers) beyond Shoreham Street.
Not strictly true. He was very fast, but in the same way that a small terrier chasing a ball on Filey beach is. Brilliant in a straight line, but as much use at nifty changes in direction as an aircraft carrier. If we want a player to run in a straight line very fast while managing rudimentary ball control then Shelton will at least be cheaper than Bolt.
If only for the entertainment value he could be worth a punt, in the same way that an accident waiting to happen is compelling viewing.
