Freeman looks so comfortable on the ball and so skilful, yet very competetive, maybe he could be used in midfield, possibly in front of Brayford.

Agreed. It's going to be a nice dilemma to have when they're both fit. I liked having Freeman at left back at the end of season before last but then what about Harris, will have to see how much Adkins rates Brayford.

I'm sorry I don't Freeman at all, he might be able to show a bit going forward but defensively he is very weak. Last season I spent a few games pointing out quite often how horribly out of position he used to get.

To be fair to the bloke , he may have been out of position , only because the bloke who should have been in that position was taking a walk and not concentrating.

Knowing your role and responsibility on the field has vastly improved in preseason matches . This then breeds confidence , because you are confident , that the players around you are doing there job , and on the same wavelength as you . It what makes a side hard to beat and a promotion candidate . All players appear to have improved and playing in unison. Freeman and Young Che are getting the plaudits , but all the squad , up to press , require a pat on the back IMO.

You may be pleasantly surprised when you eventually see him this season then, as I'm assuming you aint yet?

A right sided player at left back no way

Bit like Brayford then! Always thought JB was good going forward, but average defensively, even when folk were orgasmic about him.
Freeman defensively was exemplary last night.
I'll reserve my opinion for when he performs consistently in proper games.

Thought Freeman did really well towards the end of last season. There was one particular home game (can't remember exactly which one) were clough brought him on with 15 mins to go and he literally changed the game. Going to become a key player for us this season. Does anyone know how long Bray is likely to be out for?

Freeman looks decent going forward but defensively he looks wanting

interesting thread - you and I and perhaps a few others see a totally different player to some.

For me he is great going forward, great technical ability but is poor at defending - gets skinned really quite easily.

Bit of an enigma, perhaps more suited as a wing back.

Think he needs a quality CB to talk him through a game, but much room for improvement in the defending department.

Coventry at home. He played wide right that game and (I think) put the crosses in which led to our fightback from 2-0 down. I remember questioning the decision to bring him on but it paid dividends: Freeman and Brayford linked up superbly. That game was also notable for a particularly poor Coutts performance.

EDIT: just remembered that the first United goal was Doyle's chip. That was a great finish.

There was an argument in the Directors Box as someone criticised the decision to put on Freeman. Phipps aked him to leave the Directors Box?

Forgot about Doyles chip, remember thinking it was a complete mishit from where I sit. One of many poor performances Coutts put in towards the back of the season. Can't help but think he was never actually fit so maybe under positive nige we might get to see a fully fit Coutts.

I think Freeman will be well suited for the attacking game we will be looking to play this season. Makes you think what the future is for Alcock, who has no attributes attacking wise.

Going by the photos of the kit launch, Freeman's haircut just gets better & better - shaved sides, slicked back on top (added to the thickening beard).

He starting to look like an ubercool Marxist intellectual (in a macaw green kit). Just needs the Lennon glasses & bobs your uncle.

I'm getting more giddy about seeing Freeman than Che.
I'm going to take a big poster with me with Kieron's face on
