We've got one owner who's spent an absolute fortune and lost at least 90 % of it already. (Fact)

We've got a new owner who is (presumably) very wealthy but has his own new status and big national job since he bought ( sorry, assumed the liabilities) of half the club. (Fact)

We've got a manager who must have self doubts after a very bad season, I'll leave it at that. (Opinion)

The appointment of the manager was ( presumably) taken on advice. (Opinion)

We gave the new manager unprecedented authority and power and agreed to employ a number of his family and friends.(Fact).

We have a distinctly average League 1 squad if it has ambitions of promotion after 19 months with the manager and substantial expenditure., I think that's a fair assessment and (Fact).

We are entirely dependent on our new half owner to have the bottle and ambition to take us the next step (Fact).

If the new half owner doesn't KTF then nobody else will (Fact).

Nigel Clough. Under these and your circumstances you are a very lucky man to get a second bite at the cherry (Fact)

Please do well because I for one do not take the involvement of our rich new half owner for granted and another year of crap will not help any of us.(Opinion).

I would go with that.

Failure this season is of our own doing but the best chance to go up was in 2013 when we lost to Yeovil in the play-offs. That on paper should have been the year we went up despite what Donny and Bournemouth were up to. We lost fewer games than both Bournemouth and Donny and they went up 1st and 2nd with pretty poor points totals.

We are plodding along in this league but next year should be another league that on paper at least is winnable. Wigan with their parachute payments are the only real threat I see.
 
Is this thread is about how long HRH is willing to hang around? (I think that's what it's about) then it depends on how patient a man he is, and whether he's willing to take the loss of another 3 - 4 seasons at this level or not.

Only he can a answer that one.

And rightly so. Both clubs need to push each other until they are both in PL. A city as big sheffield needs both clubs up at the top.

Actually it's if and not when.

United have never done anything with the bit of money they've had - eg now - so they may mess up as well.
Plus they've made a move in the wrong direction for me with their ridiculous prices.

Judas has been lucky Wednesday have been so awful at the same time as United have plummeted to shocking like now.
 
This board committed to Clough. Surely they cannot expect him to get us promoted this season or probably even next. They should know by now what Nigel Clough is about and that is painfully slow progression. It's their own doing if they continue to make a loss by the club stagnating at this level

It has been an eventful few days though.

I do it to test my opinions and I learn a lot from the various replies. It's summer now anyway.

Ahh summer, time for reflection, well for me I would say it's been an event full season, another cup run, playoffs, players leaving us who have served our club proud, a new pitch that will be the envey of any team from Div 1, I am hopeful for next season new kit, new look blades and hopefully after next season a new division. One thing will never change for me and that is the fantastic support from fan's. UTB

Also if you're going to put opinion and fact after every point (which is a bit flaky anyway) you could at least try to get them right.

We got to a play off semi final and a league cup semi final with virtually no centre halves. A distinctly average league one squad would be say, Gillingham, not us. That is clearly your opinion.
