IMO football stats in general are far more descriptive than predictive. There must be some mileage in the Moneyball approach but you've got to use the right stats in the right way.

The above is interesting but aisi difficult to draw any reasonable conclusions from due to the large number of variables: quality of opposition, quality of squad, our fitness, their fitness, tiredness, tactics, home/away, and plenty more.

I'm on it! A couple of stats. so far. We've not had a 0-0 in the League all season and we've not scored or conceded in first-half added time - in all competitions - all season.

And people say we're negative Also, we've only failed to score on 5 occasions so far this season, thats the best for any season I can look back on without tralling through everyone of them. In 2011-2012 we failed to score in 6 games (8 inc. playoffs) and 6 games in 2005-2006.

Oh I know, I'm fully expecting a play off final heartbreak again. We've lost just about every conceivable way - other than being in front and being pegged back - so I reckon we'll be 2-0 up and lose 3-2.

Well it happened but not in the final unfortunately! Coupled with a goal for Mr OG, last night we hit 22 league scorers (counting, as I do, the play-offs as League matches). So, as a minor footnote to a disappointing season, we broke the record. Butler and Diego scored in cups only so 24 scorers in all comps.
