Started brightly scored and sat back? Courts, Holt and Scougall were complete passengers as wave after wave of Swindon attack battered us. Tonight was a night made for Doyle and Clough didn't back him unfortunately. Can have no arguments with their penalty but did feel we should have had one our own not the 3 cClough believes we should have had. The referee was good first half but lost the game in the second half. I hate to say it again but the centre half saga has cost us once again having to play Basham at centre half. Credit to Swindon they are a good side and still will be a good side come Monday.

well cant blame clough , if hed have been where Davies was wed have scored 4
cant have free open goals inside the 6 yard box and continually fuck it up

I don't blame Clough for tonight the only debatable thing he did was bring on Scougall to have a midfield with no spine or physical presence. I was disappointing in Harris tonight who didn't grasp that every bit of Swindon play went down the right wing

He missed chances but he put a shift in tonight

We didn't sit back as soon as we scored. Flynn and Murphy remained pushed on, which is why when Brayford was struggling and him and Basham dropped to counter that, they had so much space.

Second half was a different matter entirely, caused by changing the midfield.

In my opinion should have definitely had two pens, the first for a blatant handball, the second when Flynn was fully cropped in the box after shooting, that one was more of a pen than any of the other. Ref was inconsistent throughout

So blame him for not being tactically good enough or being able to change the game!!

We can ask why he pulled our best midfield player back to play in the back four when he had a Centre back on the bench in Alcock.

And anyone who says "Alcock isn't good enough"

Well who feckin signed him then?

I'm not surprised they played 3 5 2, nor that their wingbacks strolled forward unmarked and unchallenged, nor that our MF got rolled over once our makeshift defence had to be bolstered by Basham. Nor am I surprised that our sole striker missed opportunities or that we conceded from a corner and from a long range shot. Blame the ref all you want (and he was shit) but we were worse after the first 20 mins. Sad.

What is the point in having Alcock on the bench? Seriously if he couldn't get on the pitch tonight then he is never going to play, might as well pay up his contract and cut our losses!

I thought we could have had a pen when Murphy went down. Not blatant but seen them given. Not sure about the hand ball and the flyer one was too far away to comment on.

Very positive opening. Why we didn't do that every game against shitter opposition I don't know. Long period where they camped in our half and looked very accomplished. I defend coutts as I like bits of what he brings but he's like watching Cresswell running through treacle on the defensive. Scougall and Holt should never be paired together. We really missed the presence and drive of Basham in midfield.

All told, my biggest problem was I'd rather have at least six of their team over ours. If they had a genuine goal threat they'd be a brilliant team based on what I've seen of them. Praise for them managing to assemble the team and creating a very fluid team.

Can't really remember if Davies missed a sitter but I'm at the wrong end of the south stand to comment.

It's not over. But I'm not feeling optimistic.

Oh and I really do not like the idea of Alcock at CH. So sadly could only envisage Basham going back. So can't knock that decision. However, if we can't muster a CH from 40 players and development players it's a sad predicament.

We've been miles behind swindon and preston in the league this year so won't be a sunrise if the playoffs go to form. Just absolutely gutted at the result tonight was hoping our cup form/mentality would see us through... And still time for it to do so yet.

I will answer that question for you in two words..

The first word is "NIGEL"

The second word is "CLOUGH"
