I once asked an Oldham fan about it and he said it went back to a couple of games in the Dave Basett era, one when we were the first team to beat them in their terrible plastic pitch, it was evening game and apparently before the game there was a lot of trouble in Oldham town centre.

Also a couple of years later we lost there on a Saturday and had two men sent off (a bad tempered game I was at) and a once again some of the BBC lads went berserk in Oldham afterwards.

Dave Bassett also made less than complimentary remarks Oldham after Joe Royale had had a pop at our style of play.. Long memories it seems.

(1862/5072) x 100 = 36.7%.

36.7% of the crowd yesterday were Blades. I think that says a lot more about their home support then our away support.
