Clough says #BHAFC know their stance on O'Grady but with their position in Champ unlikely to let him go at minute #SUFC #twitterblades

Baxter will be assessed pre kick off tomorrow following dead leg on Saturday. Won't be risked if not 100% #SUFC #twitterblades

Its now middle of February, at long last NC brain has just engaged, if he wasn't so pig headed he should have had a CF in from day one

Ermmmm....... have you paid no attention to Clough at all since at least last summer? He's been pushing and pushing to get a striker, namely O'Grady but several others.

Clough has long since stated that he wants a striker and he's had several lined up, but they've either been out of our price range, player not interested, they've gone elsewhere or they've got injuries.

Diego and his father are clearly living in a dream world. They have over hyped him so much and he'll never live upto it. Clearly his dad wants to go back to Italy and using his kid as a cash cow. Well enjoy the glamour of York Mr DG

Thing is, teams like York probably wont be able to afford him.

Whoever signs him next will have to pay us quite a decent fee - for his development etc. He's been with us a while and also played 1st team games and at international level.

Be interesting to see who picks him up.

You just beat me to it

Goooshhh !! You have more excuses than NC !

None of that matters one jot. We should have signed a striker, any striker; great, good, average, shite or even Stevie May. We should also have spent as much money as humanly possible for said striker: that improves any player no end.

The folly of it all is that we end up with a mediocre left-back from Barnsley of all places. It's poor management, when all's said and Done.

One of the many admirable things about No-Excuses Nige is that he doesn't give up. Ask Paul Coutts and the Hairy fella. I doubt he's decided that he doesn't want COG after all.....

Well i didn't make them up and i can't take credit for them, they were the reasons given by Clough and Phipps since Sept last year. I know its hard to understand, but my post had a little bit of a giveaway on where i got them from when i wrote " Clough has long since stated...."

Notice that i also didn't offer any opinion either way, just stating what we'd been told...

I am not a' Pig' !! far from it , all I'm saying is, why has it taken all of pre season and now 6 mths of the season for NC to sign a decent frwd, I just can't accept excuses, a good manager would have signed or loaned a player that is good enough for Lg 1 before he signed Done, I'm quite happy with Done don't get me wrong

I think I answered your question earlier.

In fairness Higdon was signed as a striker that was ready, but he's not... Still

Nigel Clough was brought up by one of the finest Football Club Manager ever in British football, had first hand experience of football management at close quarters as a youngster growing up, he developed into a top class player making over 400 appearances for Forest, Liverpool and Man City scoring over 140 goals, played 15 times for England Under 21 and 14 Full England Caps, he has two League Cup winners medals and played over 200 games for Burton Albion as Player Manager
I think he knows a tad more about football than you or 99.999% of people on this forum yet you have the audacity to question his actions

PS He also has a Blades win rate of over 51%

Submarine, if you are going to post, keep it to something you know about because it certainly ain't football !

Martin Peters was a legend but knew fuck all about football management, as we all know to our cost :(

Not saying Clough doesn't but just because you were a good player and had a top pedigree doesn't guarantee any success in management. Game littered with inglorious failures.

We did need strikers at the start of the season - no dispute about that - if we had got the lads in then we would be in the automatic places. As it is we are where we are and things are looking up but there's no denying the frustration that exists.

I, for one, hope that NC is here for many, many years to come - that way he will have built up a fine legacy and we will be a successful club once again.

Hallelujah

It was like getting the Frozen singing doll , we wanted to get one but there werent any on the shelves

We had to wait till the January sales to get one
Clough tried Amazon for proven goal scorers but they were out of stock

If you weren't so stubborn and oblivious to the facts, you would see that he has been trying all year to get the strikers in. Sometimes transfers just dont come off.
