Started the day buzzzzzin now feeling very deflated, can't see anything happening now. Suppose it is "here we go again" (well it is Ground Hog Day in USA).

Will hope something happens come loan window, again!

Matt Done. That's more like it. Nice one blades!
Been great so far this season, and he could slot in upfront as striker or play wide to push Murphy central. I don't see a problem with this at all, time to move on from COG nothing we can do about that. Let's just appreciate that Clough tried and managed to find what he sees as a suitable forward option, a versatile one albeit.

Are you serious Blade56?? Am I missing something?.... this has been the best transfer window in years, not to mention tying in Murphy to a new deal. We've strengthened all the areas we needed to and got a striker. Okay, Done might be the third choice, but we did bid for CoG and Brighton said no, and we bid for Doyle and he chose to go to the Championship - which most players would do.

We've spent over $2M for the first time in years..

We've got some great young prospects..

Clough and Phipps have done a tremendous job.

What more do you want? And if you say a "20 goal a season striker" then name me who that is.

For once the club and management team have delivered and things are looking very positive.

I understand where you're coming from Bfk but it was like watching bake off and your team made a brilliant cake but failed to put a cherry, any cherry on top of the cake. Yes I agree you build from the back but any manager worth his salt sorts out a solid goal scoring department. Our goal record speaks for itself and I bet Nige would admit to being disappointed / frustrated in his failure to sort it out by now!

Watch cloughie on the sideline, if a player isn't performing exactly to plan he goes aperlecric at their failure to perform. That's what we supporters do when he fails to sort out a goal scorer.

That said with the tallent we have acquired and tied down he should be able to squeeze 5 goals out of every player but that's still no great tally for promotion.

I'd argue that we don't have one "recognised" striker PV
I like McNuts but he is way of the complete package even though he is coming along nicely
Higdon gets far too much stick for being played as a loan striker when he needs a partner up top with him and gets no service to nut one in the onion bag

Then there is Che - exciting, young, raw, quick - he's going to be a real asset to us but it's a big ask to make him be the focal point on a run in for promotion and expect him to deliver consistently to get us over the line - he needs to be used as an impact player and to start games where we want to rest a player and give it a go from the first whistle

I've got a feeling that young Che has the confidence to take that role on Kenilworth, mature head on young shoulders, having said that, I think Nigel will use him in just the manner you described.

Hopefully if Matt Done hits the ground running, he will not be the underwhelming signing some people think. Another six from Matt in what remains of this season, and we'll have our 20 goal man.

..Its just the three years since we lost Ched that's the disgrace and the gloating and laughing from the pigs we are going to have to face once again until the summer.

...because of course the Massive have really shook the world with their Ladyboy 'investment'. Take out three bits of dead wood the pigs have borrowed and who are unrecognisable (and unpronouncable) and the Blades have had by far the better JTW.

Thank fuck this totally bogus 'window' is over (or is it?). It's football's equivalent of the DFS sale - utterly meaningless and just a way to kid people into thinking their world would be so much better with the addition of a cheap sofa or semi-decent footballer. And where DFS lies about 'nothing to pay for 4 years' (by which time that shit sofa will have been consigned to the skip), football has it's own legerdemain. 'Fee. Undisclosed.'

If, and I know it's a big if, we do go up this season, I feel we'd do very well next season in the Championship and perhaps even do a Southampton/Norwich. I get the feeling that this is what Clough is trying to build, a side capable of building on promotion and going towards the Premiership. Perhaps not the wisest of strategies, but it worked for the two sides menioned above.
