Flogging James Beattie wasn't the problem.

It was signing him on ridiculous wages in the first place that was the error, and it's still that error that we're suffering from today.
I don't understand why the boozehound gets them blame for this, surely the board set the budget and approves expenditure of that sort of level? Anyone would think he staggered into McCabe's office, can of Stella in hand and said "Howay Kev, I wanus to sign James Beattie, he'll only cost four million quid an ' all", to which McCabe replied "Oh, what a good idea Bryan, just mind your not sick on the carpet on your way out"!

Load of crap he only drank Tennents Special Brew or White Lightning ;)

I dont think McCabe deliberately tries to harm the club, but he simply makes bad decisions, repeatedly. His biggest mistake is that he tries to spin things and he comes across as dishonest. If he was straight with thefans, he would be percieved in a very different manner. It is really sad that he has undone alot of the good work he did.

I don't think we've heard anything direct from Mr McCabe for over a year. Time we gave the bloke a break .

That was Mark the pitsmoor armed robber ,using Radio pig to appeal to the council to help fellow Pitsmoor armed robbers yeah. And then spouting complete bollocks about chairmen and sneaking digs in about Utd. I could have written this every weekday night for the past 5 months.
Fuckin hell that big fat twat from Rotherham is slavering down the microphone now ,oh shit it gets better Bywater the goalkeeping prick is on now ,wheres the off button.

Gosh, is there someone on here who dislikes the arrogant S6 lot more then me? I bet you used to dream of having enough money to buy the pigs and bankrupt them into oblivion...........go on, admit it.

I am so pleased that a good balance is struck these days on various threads about McCabe. I just wish that over the months I had received more support from the "silent majority" who were distinguished by their absence when a few on here were giving me a really hard time.

There are a few "one topic ponies" on here and they flourish in times of bad results. Their rhetoric is trotted out at the slightest opportunity and it sucks away the morale on the site. A lot of their diatribe is hyperbole, a lot is untrue and a lot is imagined and believed by the writer, and for some reason it makes them feel better in the bad times.

My angle has always been from the perspective of the younger fan. If these "slashers" go unchecked then the younger fans may start to believe the nonsense as gospel. Unfortunately KM has made so many mistakes that it is only a small jump in believing he is actually a villain. That is what has happened inside a few notable minds of regular posters on this site and Bladesmad too. They have said it so often they actually believe they are right.

Doesnt help when the self made SUFC spokesman BTB comes on spouting about all things blades . He is a embarrassment .If the BBC use our license money to ring him up , someone wants sacking.

He is as bad as Mark the pitsmoor robber .

Only bright spot is when that bloke , David the blade from Bolton comes on.

Is Brian the Blade Bruno who managed Ball Albion in the Anglo Scandia Sunday League.
Later managed Park and Arbourthorne ?

McCabe may have made mistakes, and he may even admit it but there is a feeling that you're listening to absolute bullshit every time he opens his mouth.
As a result of this every word he and the boardroom says gets scrutinised and remembered. It must be because they think our fan base is so thick and stupid that they can get away with it because they're all the same, everyone that comes into our boardroom talks complete bolox.

We don't want to hear what any of these people say, all we want is Clough to talk to us without constraints from these morons upstairs.

If he says we wont be signing anybody because we haven't got a pot to piss in that would normally be fair enough, disappointing but fair enough.
The problem is they've even backed themselves into a corner regarding that excuse as well now that the "prince" is on board.

There's a billion things you hear everyday, most of which you'll forget within seconds, but when a known liar tells you something it's human nature to remember it and scrutinise it. That's the situation our boardroom is in.
The lack of trust in these people is shared almost unanimously by all United fans no matter how optimistic or negative they are, and this lack of trust has been embedded by excuse after excuse after excuse and failure after failure after failure.

Exactly. I've said it before, they have increased out expectations with all the 'investment' spin. If they said, "look, no signings, no cash", I'd totally accept it and look forward to the next game.

In our case mccabe is a fan so he was loathe to let it go , said openly he wanted others to take it on , but and this is the key point , no fucker cam,e in so for 3/4 seasons we went backwards mccabe didnt really care, he said as much , but then along came the prince,
Would any true fan with shit loads of money ever want to leave his club in the lurch and say openly that he doesn't really care? I don't buy what you're saying 'btw' but if he did say that then some blade he is:rolleyes:
20 league clubs have gone through admin , we could so easily have been number 21
Who are these clubs?

Nail on the head. Well played, sir.

I'm surprised anyone would think that McCabe deliberately tries to sabotage Sheffield United, but I'm equally bewildered by those who claim he has a good track record of decision making on the football front - he might well be doing clever things with the freehold, the hotel, the academy and so on, but he's made some dreadful managerial appointments, endorsed some terrible signings and ridiculous salaries, and gets the PR wrong time after time after time.

If in doubt. tell the truth - good rule of thumb, and it'd save all this "game changing investment" nonsense.

Not only that,we sold him for £0.5 million less than what we bought him for, after all the goals he scored for us.There's only us that could do that on them terms.

Yes s true fan who has a brain would stop putting his own money in .men have these things called wives .who over time will say things like stop wasting all our money .take up art collecting .yiu dont lose as much .As to the clubs look it up on wiki clubs in admin surprise yourself

Hague , agree with what you say but -

What we can say is that with Mr McCabe , we still have a football ground . Without him we would have been playing at Don Valley Stadium and some bugger would have demolished the ground and built a supermarket on it. Better the devil you know .

yes wizadry mccabe seemed to go over the top at that time with the parashute money and the tevez affair came back to bite him and us as fans on the bum.Ithink during that initial period after relegation he lost his senses in a business sense as the anger and frustration from the relegation boiled over in the mean time robson and blackwell threw big money in the form of transfers and wagers. When mr mccabe regained his business brain( re-football finance the golden egg parashute money)
he was left with a black hole which he has been battling with ever since. The prince has arrived and my opinion is investment
is available but will not be sqandered again a sensible approach is being maintained with a manager who is prudent with other
peoples money he will get the job done but will not throw money away thats how i see cloughy,s approach. In my opinion obviously !!. i trust cloughy lets not throw away what he is building with the support of the board.

I have a lot of time for McCabe. How many of your would sink the amount of money into the club, he has? This is of course if you had it in the first place.
OK I hear some of you saying "I buy a season ticket every year, which is a substantial part of my income" but it's not the same. He puts his money where is mouth is. He makes mistakes, some of them big ones, but it's because he loves the Blades so much I think. He's also been unlucky that commercial property has had it's biggest downturn since the war. Although things are really picking up now.
