I thought Davies was, thuggery aside, completely ineffective. He is long past his use-by date. I detect Bladey Bladeness.
Agree with that, only scored 3 since 2013, Higdon has scored 4 for us and has hardly featured in any games.

Two most memorable moments from Davies:
The stupid booting of the drop ball into BL.
Sit next too him if you don't mind been elbowed!Davies is just a typical target man, puts it about unsettling defenders and opposition keepers. He's always been that type of player, but as he's got older has become less effective.
You can slag him off if you like, but bear in mind, it won't be long now before he's hung his boots up and has a season ticket back on the Kop and then you'll all be clambering to sit next to him!![]()
And well done our ball boy for 'taking his time' returning itThe stupid booting of the drop ball into BL.
Footnote: Dave Basset got rid of Davies from BDTBL as a teenager for not being strong or physical enough
Bassett's youth policy was awful (Whitehouse and Ward were signed by Billy McEwan) and I didnt think much of Keith Mincher who was our youth team coach then
Keith Mincher was at L**ds before he came to us and L**ds didnt poach him from us. He became Carlisle's manager in June 1999 but resigned a week later due to problems with Michael KnightonKeith used to work with me when we had a steel Industry. He is/was a great bloke and knew his coaching stuff so much so that Leeds poached him from us when they were a big club. His coaching methods are still used by me on our local lad's team
