Sports Journo at RS - kind of replaced Paul Walker on the team.
Think he's a L**ds fan - but is relatively knowledgeable
Commentates on matches on RS and BP when covering Blades games.
Also host Football Purgatory on RS in midweek - shared with the rest of the crew

Only other thing of interest is addressing Neill Collins's situation a bit more. In response to the Star article saying he wants to stay and fight his way back in, NC basically said that Basham, HM and Kennedy are ahead of him, he knows the situation, we're looking to get him out on loan for the rest of the season. So that door is pretty much shut.

On McNuts he says he's been here / been working with him for a year. Eh??

A few things i picked up on are 1] He hasn't even spoke to Butler yet to wish him well, make of that what you want 2] Gary Mackay Smith is who Jonathan Buchan spouted out,he can't even get a footballers name correct, think of that what you want and 3] Chris Porter can leave because we already have enough in that area is what Clough said, now make of that whatever you want.

Now some fans think that Clough speaks open about all things SUFC in interviews,i personally think that Clough doesn't get put under too much scrutiny when asked these questions, and they are what every blade with tinted specs on is going to want to hear.

But he makes it clear it's something he'll be doing soon - a detail worth including.
Yes i got that mate, but a player who he signed, who he got rid of 4 days ago yet he hasn't even spoke to him.I'm no Einstein but surely you wish them well on their way out.

He speaks as openly as he can/ wants, its not Newsnight or Question time, its getting his thoughts on current situations. Do you remember the days when we got nothing more than a post match interview with a manager? I'm not saying that we should tip toe around subjects, but when he gets asked an open question he generally gives an open answer.

I agree with you. He's the first manger we've had since Warnock who's interesting to listen to in interviews.

I think that's right - wasn't he down training with us a few times last season?

I'd heard that rumoured. Seems odd if he was playing for another team at the time. If Louis Reed was off to train with Stoke while playing for us I'd be pretty unimpressed!

I don't often listen to his interviews as the interviewer just normally beats around the bush, but i was interested in what he had to say regarding the transfer window and i have to say,he nearly sent me to sleep with the amount of times he hums or erms his way through it,i don't think i will listen to many more 'tbh'.I'm just hoping he can let the football do the talking so i won't have to.

You've probably picked the worst time to listen to him then, I would presume that transfer talk is a bit of a minefield for any manager. Given our past record of missing out on players and losing players I'd suggest that SUFC are now ultra cautious about talking up any deals in case they end up falling through. Recent example would be Freeman, Clough pretty much said it was a done deal and he just had to come and sign... Then it didn't happen.

I'd suggest that you listen to some of his prematch interviews and the post match interview he tends to do on a Monday. I find them interesting on his footballing philosophy and what he's trying to do with the team. He's certainly not dull and speaks very well

Only other thing of interest...

Oh, I don't know. I found that retard from Ecclesall Road particularly interesting. Why didn't his carer prevent him from ringing up? Also of interest was the delusional Wendyite who 'assured us' that Mandrovic would only sell to a buyer who was 'right for Wendy'. So that'd be like Geoff Sheard, Strapon, Borat from Azerbaijan and any number of chancers he saddled Portsmouth with.

Re. the Clough interviews, the journos can only go so far as they rely on these interviews for copy.

He is from Leeds and for all the people who have never been to Leeds you can tell them so easy.

Just ask them to say ONE - they can't fucking say it - they say wun. Keith E picked up on it in one of his first RS games - they might be from the White Rose County, but they still talk funny !

UTB

The only interviews I get chance to hear are those on SUFCYoutube and occasionally on RS after a game.

My view is that Clough has got the presenter in his pocket and is given leading questions on pre-agreed topics.

Not a waste of time but clever management. Clough is strong enough to call the tune and tell them to get lost if they don't kow-tow.
