Has any player played just one game and scored in said game?
 
Good.

For whatever reason it didn't work out so the sooner he was off the wage bill the better. Would assune it is a pretty decent wage freed up for a potential signing too.
 
The only time I saw him play was at Burton pre-season and he was utter rhubarb as was Collins - both were subbed at half time.

We too saw that game and was right behind the goal in the first half where Burton scored 3 - collins played right, Butler played left. Was spitting feathers even for a friendly and we actually took 1,200 down that day. Butler took their centre forward down for a clear penalty that the ref didn't give - thought then what a load of poo we had signed.

They weren't subbed though - we played 2 entirely different 11's first half and second half. Harry partnered Mcgahey in the 2nd half and it was noted that Harry waved to the crowd at the end - he KNEW that was his last game.

I take it he wont be giving his signing on fee back to the club?

The more usual wording would be "for an undisclosed fee" wouldn't it?
Has he gone on a free transfer or is that reading too much into it?

I would assume that the important thing would be to get a wage off the books

Nah, we got a photo of the gay one from One Direction. We wanted it signed, but we would've had to have added Collins to the deal for that.

He played four matches for us altogether.

I vividly remember the match in which he scored 2 against Portsmouth, a young streak of piss called Peter Crouch opened the scoring for the visitors.
 
Butler played against Fener and scored. He looked dangerous in both boxes :o
 
Looking at the bbc website is there a little dig at Clough? As he says "the manager is great with me"
 
What a shambles. Not saying we should have kept him but it's been a dreadful bit of business all around.
 



You either tow the line everthing on Cloughs terms or you're out.

Lost a really good central defender in Butler
