Low points of the year

The Ched Evans debate obviously was a tricky time for our club, not in least among the terraces where people were divided on the matter.

But football wise:

1. Losing 3-0 at Crewe in February, like most, at that time I could genuinely see no way back for us at that point. How important were the early wins at Colchester and Cambridge before we even got to Villa? The FA Cup saved our season.

2. Losing 5-2 at Swindon in September, one of my worst away days ever.

For me personally:
3. Coming home from Port Vale on Boxing Day, being stuck on the coach for 7 and half hours, not reaching Sheffield til 12:30 and then having to walk from town in the thick snow back to Parson Cross. Oh and then while walking through Hillsborough on the way back, being verbally abused by a Wednesday fan was nice. Character building though I suppose! ;)

Bladesway, you made great points and I took a lot on board from you, the damage was bad enough, but was set to escalate to a situation we would never recover from, you were one of the people who were banging the drum that the negatives outweghed the positives way too much, and that the clubs integrity should be safeguarded, in the end my loayalty to the clubs decision, and the player, were misguided, he clearly became too much trouble for our clubs future...

The shitstorm was so bad that when we turned our back on him, even wendy didn't take the piss,.that says it all doesn't it..

Happy new year mate..

Wow, thanks for your honesty and comments. Appreciate that. All the best to you and yours for 2015.

The reflected glory we can gain from Ennis has gone since the 2012 Olympics anyway.

That stand needs naming after Tony Currie.

Why, he passed through the club like the rest. Sold off to pay a debt at a guess. I don't want sponsors stands, I don't want them named after players. John Street, Kop, South Stand are all good enough in my book, why not Bramall Lane like it used to be?

The Port Vale game was a particular low point for me - when the penny dropped that we were likely to spend another season "changing our ethos" in the third division.

On the plus side, Crewe away about a year ago when I thought the unthinkable was going to happen, relegation to the 4th, which was a turning point.

Let's hope they both prove turning points. If not, a few can rejoice in the fact that our manager is "nice", unlike that nasty and unacceptable, seven times promoted Steve Evans. The rest of us can contemplate the worst spell in the clubs history.

UTB

1. Not sorting our longstanding goalscoring problem

2. Ched Evans not having a club. Whatever you think of the issues, as long as he isn't playing football he will
be linked back to us, usually with photos of him in a Blades shirt dragging our club through the sewer again. And for the
record I hope he gets his career back soon, I agree we shouldn't have re-signed him but for Gods sake when
people can kill someone and continue a career its ridiculous that he cant.

3. Still being in div 3

Conceding an equaliser at home to Orient in the 198th minute.

5-2 against Swindon, letting 5 goals in...... ouch

The Ched Evans saga. It divided opinion on the terraces, at work, in family homes, etc.

The home game torment of pretty much knowing that the first half hearted attack by whoever we are playing against, will result in them scoring a soft goal.

The lack of the board/Nigel (take your pick or blame both) actually bringing in any of the so-called 'Target players".

On the patrons subject, has anyone ever heard anyone say "I was sitting on the Jessica Ennis-Hill stand today"?, no, thought not!

Fingers crossed for 2015, getting some quality players in and getting us out of this league.
