I'm terrified of Milton Keynes. They are a mighty team with a glorious history. They are even better than Rochdale (remember what they did to Crawley), Bristol, Preston, Peterborough and Leyton Orient and we know they are all far, far better than us. I think MK may even spank us by more goals than Southampton are going to do. We are in for a hiding, a pasting and a right good battering.

I have decided not to go tonight, even though I have a ticket. I just can't face it. I shall hide trembling in a corner and hope to never ever hear the shameful truth that is to unfold. Of course, given that I am a yellow backed. lily-livered, white flag waving surrender monkey I can't expect any better of the team, can I? So I won't be complaining when my prophecy is fulfilled, will I?

I do hope some MK fan gives me a like. I admire them so very much.

Cheers Pinchy, really drove home where we are when I read "they are even better than Rochdale"

Thanks

2-1 to us. Clough to guide us to 3 points.

Do you not expect COG to make a bit of difference? I appreciate it is his first game and we ought not to expect miracles but I think he will galvanise us. At the risk of stating the obvious, I thought the utterly immobile Higdon was pretty dreadful on Friday.

Not really because I expect that COG will start on the bench as he is not yet fully fit as I understand it. Even when he does come on, some time in the last 20 if the previous changes are anything to go by, it will be as a direct replacement for Higdon where the shape of the team will not alter, regardless of the score at the time.

I feel that both Higdon and COG play better in a dual strike force so they would benefit from some McNuts at the side of them. It's the cautious approach we take because the players we have are not trusted enough, not reliable enough or not sufficient quality to play in that manner - it;s the only logical conclusion from the tactics deployed so we are tough to beat - we always seem to set up like the inferior team in a cup tie - no matter who we are playing.

Let's look at the evidence of the current league season to contrast and compare, as opposed to the size of our clubs' relative schlongs. If you were a bookie then this is the sort of stat you would be most interested in as a measure of predicting the likely outcome.

MKD played 17 and scored 38 whilst conceding 18 - goals scored, per game average = 2.24 giving them a GD of +20
We have played a game more and scored 13 fewer goals at 25 whilst conceding 21 - goals scored, per game average = 1.39 with a GD of +4
We may need to score more than two goals to get anything out of the game tonight and we have only done that on one occasion when we blitzed a trio in a 5 minute spell at the end of the game against Col U - who, as you know, got thumped 6 without reply by tonight's opponents.

Ah, but we were the last team to beat the plastic franchise I hear your grey matter wrinkling away - Yes, we nicked the league cup match in the last 5 after they all fell asleep and Higdon helped himself to a zimmer frame based brace. Prior to that we hadn't really troubled their 'keeper's sleep patterns - indeed some people say that he had more Rem sleep in that 90 than he had had the previous 7 nights.

So, in conclusion - we are actually going to stuff them out of sight and come away with a 4-1 win toneet and COG will get two, off his knob
Happy now :)

Didn't expect us to be them in Cup! 2 more Higdon headers 2-1 Blades

O'Grady to play upfront on his own and move less than higdon did on Friday night, THEN....... .......Alcock will do a fantastic throw in to Cambell-Ryce who will fool everybody and not take on the full back fifteen times and simply float a cross into the box to the mobile Higdon who runs past his marker and heads in the winner.!

Now I know you're taking the piss because you said " Higdon runs" !!

....which, as any anthropological stastican will tell you, is almost certainly very lar.......

No, I can't say that, can I? Don't want our Jess to demolish her stand!

i think this is quite a significant game. win- things are really looking up. lose- we're gonna struggle to a play-off place (that we're famously brilliant at ;) ) ... i think a draw would be ok but could really do with 3 points and positive morale

We will win tonight. I have no idea why I'm confident of this but I am.
