Snatched defeat from the jaws of success again.

Got Clough in just as he's freed up or we would never have got him, gets a high profile investor without baggage and fans stay loyal with a piss poor league at their mercy. So what went wrong?
Was it his obsession with getting his money back on Evan's? Or is he not giving NC the backing he needs?
He I imagine would argue look at the state of the club, finances etc. I would argue but look where we are, 3rd division and looking like we are going nowhere fast. Even NC after the Notts game sounds despondent. Clearly something has gone wrong and I can't figure out how he keeps failing to turn this club back round.

I'd say its still too early to make a final judgement on the investment or lack thereof. Theres a lot we don't know but the one thing that has to happen is we need to play better and be better at home. That might not come from investment, it might come from Clough finding a pair of bollocks down the back of the sofa and going for teams from the off at home.

I'm the last person to make apologies for McCabe as you may know but what needs to change is the perception that we get a good player, we sell that good player. Its not served us well thus far and until that changes then the mindset of many (myself included) will always be we are a club that sells to survive.

I agree. It's not McCabe or the Board who play 4-5-1 against defensive sides in home matches, nor do they allow the players to play without tempo for the first hour every home match.

No, but it's Mcabe who brought the man in that does. UTB.

Like with the West Ham scenario, McCabe has dug his heels in with Ched and caused a truck load of trouble that's still ongoing.
I think monies were withheld for Ched and that's why only now we're seeing some desperate signs of movement.
As others have mentioned, the league is so poor we're still in with a chance of the auto's with the right recruitment in Jan.

UTB!

Sorry to be pedantic, but it was the prince and McCabe under the new ownership, with the new money.

It's like the Con-Demned 'co-alition', they can blame each other for their failings, though McCabe's been remarkable quite...I'd take a guess that its McCabe held the cash back for Ched?

If that's the case sheff, why does everyone give MCabe all the grief. I've said on other threads when McCabe was getting all the flak for ched, where does HRH have any input, or is it through Jim Phipps on tweets, and other social media.

Phipps has been quite clear that he believes that Evans should be allowed rehabilitation and that he regrets the intense and overwhelming pressures on United not to allow him to train with us.

Is that just Jim Phipps view or HRH as well, that's the point we never know.

It's too early to say what's gone wrong now. We're still in a decent position despite our performances being shocking in most first halves and decent in most second halves.

This is propably the biggest season in my lifetime as a blade because if we stay in this league for another season i'd hate to see what it would do to our fanbase,my guess would be 15,000 gates at the most and that's been kind, meaning less income, leading to even a greater loss of investment in our playing squad and perhaps an even longer stay in this lovely division, anyway, lets try and block that thought out:)Lets focus on the positives.

We have the January window left for the club to support NC some more, not if but WHEN needed, because it will be needed.Cloughy does need to be a lot more positive though and i know the board appointed him but it is down to Clough himself this,i'm pretty sure McCabe doesn't tell him to get the deckchairs out in the first half,of that i'm sure of.Like i say we're still in a good position and all is not lost at this moment in time.

He's done all the positive things you say but because it hasn't worked out (so far) it's his fault?

Explain please..

McWobbleGob should give us back OUR freehold write off the debt and fuckoff.

Again , we started in league one in august , its november , our chances of not being in league one still ......were slim

we must have the only fans in football whos team sit in top 6 who think in november we have no chance ,,,, its truly amazing at times how we go on
id dread to think some of our "fans" were working on a cancer ward , box him up hes no chance
