I am hoping this is just to sharpen him up for regular first team football, and nothing else.

With it being a month you'd expect thats what it was for. However you can never be sure as Im sure there's different loan rules for the youngsters.

Is that twat Worthington still manager there?

Wouldn't let him anywhere near our youngsters*.

*Not in a Jimmy Savile way, just don't like the way his teams play the game.

As daft as it may sound, a bit of rough and ready stuff might be what the lads needs. His talent on the ball isn't going to disappear over a month, but playing mans game might just set him on his way.

Just what the lad needs, lets hope he does better than Willis, and Banton who were soon bombed out of Bradford Pa. Could do with Otis Khan getting a loan next.

Assuming that means he'll be back for the JPT, good opportunity to develop and then see if he's good enough for our first team again.

Good move all round, remember even Beckham had a loan to Preston when he started!

It would be nice if for a change we could loan someone out that does brilliantly in that league - most players we loan out seem to do very averagely and then return to the mix (like Porter) or do ok and then head elsewhere (like Whitehouse). We never seem to have anyone that makes any impact on that division.

I'd nearly forgotten about our existing loans out - Callum McFadzean at Burton has just been ruled out for 2 months with a broken foot, while Joe Ironside has scored 4 in 12 for Alfreton.

Stephen Quinn, the last loan player out to get glowing reports when at Rotherham and was the other team Rushden & Diamonds?

Yep you can almost certainly put York down in your draws every weekend.

Not having seen the lad play,I should be the last to put in my two pen'orth but posters on here appear, IMO to suggest that. Diego has an unjustified high opinion of his capabilities.

A loan asorganised should tell us all something about his prospects

You might be right Sirius. I think that out of all the youngsters at the club, he is the one with the most pressure on his shoulders. There have been numerous posts on here and other fans websites about this lad, and whether he should be playing or on the bench for the first team. He had a bit of a cameo, season before last, when he came on and made a goal for Dave Kitson, but then suffered the bad injury etc etc. The call ups for Italy U21's don't help at the moment because of peoples expectations playing for such a respected footballing country. Still to make it he has to handle the pressure, but he is young and hopefully the move away from the lane for a short time will help.

As I have said before, having seen Diego play for the Academy side, and being a season ticket holder for Donkey's years, I would have him in the first team now. He has pace similar to Scougall, definitely as good as Flynn and Murphy, and the ball seems to stick to his feet, great at dribbling around players and will shoot from anywhere he has a chance.

Having seen him play plenty, I wouldn't.

He needs games, perfect opportunity to pick things up while out on loan, he needs to get back to where he was at pre-injury before he's ready for an extended run in our first XI.

Agree, seen lots of him on video both before and after the injury. He needs a sustained run of games at a higher level than U21s, once he regained confidence in his knee, then he may well be ready for a run in the first team.

I tend to agree with this Foxy ,as long as he plays every game he can for them, just like McCarthy will for us.

Didn't realise Ironside was still contracted to us. A Grimsby supporting friend of mine told me he played pre-season for them with a view to a permanent deal but didn't impress.

And Nigel Worthington's left his job as a result. Within 2 months of his league debut, Wilson left. Within 2 days of his York debut, Worthington's gone.
