Well we were 30 seconds away from being a playoff club today :)
 
We can only hope we scrape a run together and somehow end up in the top 6. We have a chance because the division is poorer than its ever been. I bet we dont though. We can't defend and play with no strikers. We are worse then the team that ended last season and that was a team that needed improving. Even Clough himself said this. It's quite incredible how we've ended up with a worse team than the one we ended last season with. Everybody who was involved in the recruitment side of things in pre-season should be ashamed. They blew the season before it even began

Predictable and boring from a mid table (at best) poster, bet you were gutted when we went 2-1 up.
 
Have to agree with the OP. My belief that this team can get promoted is diminishing each week. The group is too naive and lacks that little bit of extra quality to win games on a consistent basis.

Where we are now is where we will probably finish and that is not acceptable for SUFC. I still have no interest in arguing how much we have spent or in how much we should have. The only thing that matters is that the playing squad is insufficient for a promotion challenge as things stand.

The club must address it by whatever means necessary or get ready for another season at this level. Simple as that.
 
Yet again we can't manage to put the ball in the back of the net before the 80th minute, or been to create a lot until then. The defence is killing us at the moment and I'm perplexed to see McGahey on the bench. He's been our best centre half so far this season and I'm definitely not impressed with McCarthy. I lost count how many times he gave the ball away in the first half. The main question I have at the minute is how the fuck is there a free header in the 98th minute? Absolutely abysmal. Two shite goals from a shite team and we fucking drew to them. There is no way whatsoever that we will even finish in the top 6 with the defence we've got. So disappointed today. But another thing is where the fuck did 7 minutes from me from? 5 was about right.

So many things went wrong today. Very disgruntled Blade at the moment.

It seems to be like this every week at the moment. The good news is that variance has to even out in the end. We cannot keep on like this. If we have stats like that every week we are going to win many, many more than we lose or draw.

Looking at the corners stats. Corners at both ends needs to be addressed, we never create from ours and are very vulnerable when defending them, been that way for a while now with no signs of improvement

Oh shut up you stupid man, I am absolutely guttered we failed to beat a very VERY poor visiting team, Orient would have lost by three, four or five goals against A Bristol or an MKD today we should have buried them but poor play from average players cost us and will cost us all season unless we losen the purse strings

WE DO NOT need a striker - we have a striker called MCNULTY - what does he have to do to start?

Playing Baxter as a false no 9 today was a JOKE

If Baxter and Scougall cannot play in the first team together, then we should NOT sacrifice Mcnulty to make way with a false 9 formation.

Sorry, Mr Clough - poor team selection today.

Don't be so sure. That's the hallmark of a naive side lacking quality in the final third. The only credit you can give them is for hard work and intention.
 



One thing hindering our chances of promotion this year is a settled side, for what ever reasons we aren't doing this, have we played the same team 2 games in a row yet?

I'm sure i heard/read the other night Bristol City have played the same side since first game of the season in the league?
 
First half: Shocking. Slow, no movement, unambitious and we wasted good positions.

Second half: Better but average, not clinical, wasted good positions, good defending from Orient.

Orient deserved the point for their defending; our poor first half and our lack of ability.

What has happened to Alcock, Murphy and Scougall?

Flynn had a good game today.

Officials were a joke. We should have had a penalty.

Short sentences indicate another pissed off Blade, of which there are many.

Just curious, as so many people say similar, and we need a striker but who do people suggest?
I would bet and stand to be corrected but Bristol and mkd don't get stats like those most weeks with thrice hitting woodwork, 2 cleared off the line and a clear penalty denied plus actually scoring a couple.
I'm not so sure we need to buy a striker, maybe just play one with a little consistancy, is that 4 for mcnulty so far? And only started a couple, not too shoddy return.
Give him game time.

The Stats aren't as good in away games though, we can't aford to throw away points at home like today.

Auto looks away gone to me, we might scrape into the play offs but with the current squad I think we have little chance of winning them even if we make them.

Well you are happy with mid table that's quite clear, have you thought of applying for a spot on the board? Keep on clapping like a demented seal the next half a dozen years in league one if you want
 
Abysmal 1st half......slow and negative - which is fast becoming a Clough trademark.

2nd half we tore them apart ....bad luck and poor finishing meaning we didn't score the 4 or 5 our attacking play deserved. To allow them a free header at the end - particularly when we had an extra man - was criminal.

JCR was outstanding when he came on. He has got to start.

And Clough needs to start being far more positive from the start - the 1st half was once again totally unacceptable.

19k there again which is incredible. Deserve far better than this.
 
He leaves it that long to put JCR on Mcnulty should have been on from the off.
Flynn does a fair amount graft up ann down the flanks but can't go past players let's start JCR
 
You can dominate a game from the start but it is of no use if you have nobody to finish.
How many times were attempts blocked today,hit posts, for crying out loud find someone that can hit the target!
 
What are people's thoughts on the penalty shout? From my view near the back of the Kop I thought Campbell-Ryce dived.
 
I just heard Negative Nigel's view of the game ...................... is he on drugs? we were absolute shite for large parts of the game. Lets be honest Orient were just as poor if not worse than Gillingham we are playing just as bad as we were under David Weir, I think we mustered about 3 shots at most in the first half we were slow, laborious in our build up and as the half wore on looked more and more clueless. Ok we moved the ball faster in the second half but still it looked unlikely we would score until they had a man sent off and we brought on JCR and McNulty (what do they have to do to get a start ?) Still I thought once more we had got out of jail but no eleven men manage to let one of their ten men a free header from a set piece. Not good enough by a long way by the players piss poor team selection and tactics from Clough.

Scougall deffo having the difficult second album this year, but I am sorry even a below par Murphy is bringing more to the team than our flightless winger Flynn.
