Given McGahey is just about ever present this season you have to think that it's Collo that will be sidelined with this acquisition.

Can't help thinking, why only 1 month, when the rationale for waiting this long into the loan window was to secure the services of a player or two over the 93 day period that would cross over into the JTW.

Perhaps it's the player not wanting to commit to too long as they don't want to drop into L1 permanently?

Still need another striker IMO - It desperately needs more goals in this team otherwise games like Gillingham at home last week could be commonplace - but we may not score 2 in the last 8 mins too frequently to turn it around.

Is it really negative to highlight concern over someone coming in (and he may not be of course) against an in form striker who, through no fault of his own, may not be quite match fit? I've no problem with a strong, young defender coming in, particularly one who has generally played above our level (Huddersfield, Cardiff) and he could well be exactly what we need - but as I'm going to be surrounded by Chessies on Saturday, I'd be happier if we were certain that the players there will be ready.

If it is an initial one month loan we can look to extend it through January and possibly sign the player if it's an option. We have 8 games coming up in the next month and we are short at centre half, so it makes sense to have one brought in for that period with the possibility of an extension if he fits the bill.

Absolutely correct , he may not start (which is why I said he may not be coming in against an in for striker)

I've no problem with the need for cover and that we can extend and I hope he's a super star, but my ONLY concern is match fitness as we need someone ready and if he's only cover, and therefore not playing, he won't get match fit. Unless I'm missing something obvious???

Might be something to do with Butler and the wages percentage/turnover situation or it might be to see how he fits in after getting our fingers burned with Butler.
