In praise of Kalvin

No airs and graces, battled from start to finish, always wanting the ball. Looked a class above MOM for me closely followed by Kitchin. Can understand why Chris went out on a limb to get him. Hope he stays fit because he's a bonafide class player.
Got to agree bad thing to say but shouldn't have gone to city totally fecked him up
He was great at leeds but not good enough for the oil trillionaires

May be premature but Arblasters confidence should grow with a player like Phillips at the side of him,he’s a calmer,a tackler (mistimes periodically) and a footballer. Ollie is a good passer but he has to move it slightly quicker and move into a yard of space slightly quicker. He doesn’t look around him enough.

When Phillips is on the pitch you can see the difference between a top quality footballer like him and the slow, cumbersome journeyman footballers like Jairo and Rothwell. He has a football brain and is very slick with and without the ball. Please God we can keep him fit and available because a midfield of him, Sydie and today's version of Blaster will be as good as most in this division.

If Phillips plays 90 minutes of every remaining game we’ll be comfortably in the top six, if he doesn’t play the rest of the season we’ll finish just outside the relegation zone. The actual finish will be somewhere in between.

I didn't want Phillips to come back. He's clearly a great player but his fitness and Wilder's tendency to obsess over a player put me off. I was convinced he wouldn't play for than 20 games this season and when he wasn't in the squad for Lincoln I pretty much laughed.

His appearance on Wednesday and his 90 minutes today convinced me he is a genuine asset this season and is going to be a huge part of this season if we can manage him properly.

If he's invested, can stay fit and that's his level, it's just a case of picking whichever of the other options is fittest/playing best next to him.

3 big ifs, obviously. But it would be great to see it. His temmates seem to love him and he seems like a decent bloke

A midfield three of Peck, Phillips, Blaster. Is very competitive at this level. Essentially two England U21s (I fully believe blaster would have had a call up, injury aside) with a past Englands men central midfielder. Flanked by two creative wingbacks in Burrows and Seriki. It’s something I’d like to see consistently.

Was brilliant yesterday.
We scored early with a fantastic goal and I expected a second half collapse.
No. Team dug deep, as the saying goes, it's a marathon not a sprint.

green shoots of recovery finally , as players return from long term injuries

blaster just about back to pre derby assault form

and Kalvin, cream is rising to the top

thought Ayew looked like hes settling into our system as well

2 points shy of play off spots and just gathering a bit of momentum,, glimpse of being challengers in second half of season

Both Arblaster and Peck showed their best form and most promise next to Vinny Souza. No suprise Arblaster looks more like his old self with a classy operator sat next to him picking up the scraps. Hope both can get plenty more minutes together - I still hold out hope that blaster is a biggest hope for being the one who can make us 'play'

Always liked him, he's a perfect United type player and real quality. The big thing for me that was he wanted to come here last season, and was grateful along with smiling a lot. A happy player in his surroundings plays much better. Really hope he can stay fit

He’s had 1 decent match after looking like a little lad lost, confidence is a huge bonus, let’s hope.

Have we reached the stage where everyone who was slating him in the summer now pretends they never doubted his ability, just his fitness?
But that's exactly it isn't it? I don't think anyone thinks/thought he's crap or past it, but were rightly concerned he'd be taking up a squad space, big wages, and barely get on the pitch.
