Brief summary , heavily paraphrased again.
Andy Giddings
Billy Sharp hanging up his boots, where does he rank in list of Sheff Utd greats?
-right up there, no stand named after him yet, somebody has (and rightly so) , Billy is the modern day Sheff Utd no 1
Moments that stand out with his time working with you?
- on and off pitch outstanding. My first decision (after the one to take the job) was to have him lead us - raised a few eyebrows at the time but we reset our culture. He got 30 goals that season. Bit surprised he retired.
Would you have in back in some role?
- 100%. Have talked about it over the summer, wants to go into coaching. Gets the club, but is his own man. Great to have ex players around who want us to do well - Brian Deane, Jags.
Onto team news - where's Seriki on his journey back to fitness?
- not available for Wed or Sat, got to build him up. Can't go straight back in. Shpould imagine will be available foe selection for Derby game.
Everybody else ok after Lincoln?
- yes all come through. Didn't want to gamble playing Kalvin for that one but is now fit and available and travelling to Pompey this aft. Lincoln are awkward opposition, difficult for midfield cos of balls going over their heads.
Mentioned on saturday you wanted progression going forward, how will that look?
-need to get some momentum, consistency. Got to get it right in games plans and players have to execute that. Delighted we gave everyone that winninmg feelin on Sat.
What challenge do Portsmouth pose?
- intimidating, hostile gound (in the right way) . Honest group, honest manager, some good tech players.
Danny Hall
do schedulers need to look at things like having to do 900 miles in 4 days?
- they need to but don't, as with 2 back to back trips to South Wales earlier in season. Suppose must be a reason for it. Good feeling around the group, bit nervous at start on Satdi but enjoyed how we controlled later. Tough schedulke have to deal with it.
You mentioned that anxiety at the start, has that game now given the players a lift?
- of course. Maybe I've overshared some stuff with you guys , maybe not do that as much going forward. They are a caring group, they hurt. Need to stick together. More to come from this group. Need to follow it up Wed night.
Flecky said had been training with U21s is that still going?
- yes the facility was there for him to keep fit, and to impact on young players. Still lives in the city, outstanding player, young players get ready it's full tilt from Flecky. Sure summat will come available for him, still got a lot to offer.
What else can they learn from him?
how he trains. how to conduct yourself.
3rd interviewer
With no Seriki again and Choudhury being more a defensive full back how does that leave you havin to shift those tactics on that right hand side?
- different ways of dealing, we did ok satdi, of course missing summat at top of pitch with Femi out, Hamza played there back end of 92pt season, spent time as a no 6, versatile, played as a 3rd CH as well Leicester promotion season. Impacts the game.
You spoke about culture of the club and players being part of that, is ex players coming back part of that?
- players understanding what they're coming in to, me knowing what I'm getting, is important. Got your Aylings at Boro, Grimes at Coventry, Sam Morsy at Ipswich. Need mix of experience in with youth. Ben and Hamza fitted seamlessly in. Can't wait 5,6,7 months for some players to come to the party.

Bamford - we all know he's a CF but can be no 10, even midfield - getting 2 or 3 players in one with him?
- talking about coming to the party, Pat did. Got some goals but we demanded needed to do more in international break and he did, he understands that. Honest boy, wants to do well, his body language doesn't always tell the story. Linked play on Satdi, dropped into good positions, connected with midfield players, and got in the box. Tracked back 40-50 yds and dispossessed their player.
You talked about Billy as a leader but Pat is as well in a different way?
- yeah not a chest beater, shouter and baller but made him captain v Ipswich last season, different ways to lead. Has had bit of an issue with his knee.
This season can finish 7th/8th and still do well, is it a case of get as many points as you can to get into effectively a shootout?
- wanna be in the mix, have an extended season. This is not a division where teams going to win 35 out of 46 so many challenges for everybody.
Focus now thouigh is a result at Fratton Park.
You mentioned schedule - this week and also Cardiff/Swansea, also got to go to Charlton, QPR and Millwall all before xmas it's incredible.
- yeah feel for supporters. Pal of mine going to both games with 2 kids looking at potentially a £400 week. Don't expect to sell those games out and applaud and thank everybody who does get to Fratton Park and Ashton Gate and hopefully we give them summat to cheer about. Schedule has been crammed but hopefully be an advantage later.
(couldn't hear the last question properly)
