Absolutely not.Have the Ultras / standing section made much difference to the atmosphere overall? The product isn’t great on the pitch but does the noise level feel any better?
They've made the mistake of installing the barriers facing the pitch.Have the Ultras / standing section made much difference to the atmosphere overall? The product isn’t great on the pitch but does the noise level feel any better?
Absolutely not.
It's apathetic mostly.
People are going through the motions and their routines/ family/ friends/ a pint with the focus far less on expecting to be entertained or excited.
But 2k less ST holders have sacked it off.
I don't think I'll ever experience an atmosphere like that again. The worlds changedCouple or so weeks after this thread was made…2006 1-0 win over Arsenal with Jags in net was a banger.![]()
My best times for atmosphere was the Basset days and then Warnock's triple assault season. The years under CW don't get near those under Warnock, for me.I think it's deeper than that, because even in the last promotion season when we were winning and being very much entertained by Iliman Ndiaye (if not particularly the rest of the team), the atmosphere was still pants.
The triple assault season was truly special with some great nights under the lights. My best times for atmosphere was the Basset days and then Warnock's triple assault season. The years under CW don't get near those under Warnock, for me.
I'm very glad I saw those times, before social media and death by podcast
Loved the games but even more that my then 11 yr old lad was with me, and got to see him almost spontaneously combust on more than one occasion. Yeah, looking back, it does feel like a lot of games were under the lights - the League cup run particularly. I still have the Radio Sheffield CD of the highlights of that season. The triple assault season was truly special with some great nights under the lights.
Typically ended up with fuck all but my favourite season of all.
Kids loved itSadly the triple assault season atmosphere was ruined by the Tom Hark goal music.
Yep it's truly depressing what's happened to our away numbers. We used to have a real reputation for making noise at home as well. That sadly died out a long time ago. It was even poor, relatively speaking, during the Wilder promotion years. People say it's the same everywhere, which is true up to a point, but go to somewhere like Elland Road and they still make a racket. In fact most grounds still have a block of fans making a noise throughout.agree with all the above comments the lane really is like a library on matchdays nowadays oh for the hostile atmosphere of back in the days mobile phones a big culprit but i do have to say wilderball isnt getting fans off their seats and what has happened to our away support 21.5k season ticket holders and we can only take 1k to blackburn we would have taken 4k there years back attendance police already all over this mind the 1k tonight are true fans![]()

Need to scrap the staggering of sales with loyalty points for games like last night or the likes of Cardiff/Swansea. Just use it for away games that may actually sell out quickly.Yep it's truly depressing what's happened to our away numbers. We used to have a real reputation for making noise at home as well. yes dont think the style of football wilder is playing helps at all but there just doesnt seem to be the enthusiasm amongst united fans thesedays and its not the same all over the country many grounds still have the atmospheres of the lane back in the dayThe footballs that boring it could sent a glass eye to sleep
Phones are one of the factors people spend more time checking bets or more bothered about how Wednesday are getting on.
Atmosphere in the Warnock days was brilliant
The inspiration behind my user name!Things really changed after covid imo
For me though personally that FA cup match against forest 1-0 down and won 3-1
