Wilder’s stubbornness worries me. Every man and his dog can see that we don’t have the players to play a 4-4-2! We’ve been torn through like a hot knife through butter in our last two games! No offence to either Bolton or Cardiff… but it’s Bolton and Cardiff!
I actually don’t mind us selling either Hamer or COH (I was miffed about Brooks) For me the tragedy was all the bull this summer! “We’ve got replacements lined up” “There’s a cash bid in for Soutter” yeah right! To not even bring in a PL attacking loan is frustrating to say the least!
So we go with what we’ve got! Which isn’t all the bad I don’t think, but we have to play to our strengths! We have no #10 (despite Wilder saying Blaster can play there last night! Deary me!) so it has to be 4-3-3 moving forward.

Coops
Seriki Japh Kitch Burrows
Peck Phillips Blaster
Donovan Pat BBD

UTB! ⚔️
Wouldn’t mind seeing RND or McCallum at left back and then Burrows where you have Arblaster.

McCallum is so predictable with the ball always down the channel mainly to no one
The issue here is that there's hardly anyoneahead of him to give the ball to and we're that slow getting it out to the full backs, the opposition have come across.

His other option is to come inside, twice he did this to reidewald and we ended up losing possession.

We have very little plan when in possession outside of working it across the back 4 and punting into the channels. Our midfield is pointless.

I'd give Peck half a point more for the perfect ball in for our 1st goal. Just hope his early removal from the game was not for him to have a medical!!!!
Yes, that was my first thought. It was a peach of a ball right onto Tangangas head from a free kick. Worth an extra point. But maybe take him off corners as they were mostly poor bar one or two which he got into the box. Surely Diaz could take a couple?

Midfield is a conundrum. What's the best pairing? It's true as someone else said we looked like losing control there when we made the subs. I'd be inclined to go with Phillips and Peck. Choudhury is also more comfortable as a DM than a RB.

I think your reviews are amazing and must take up a lot of your time ?. They seem fair overall , but I do get the feeling you're a Wilder out person or not too happy with him at least . This surprises me ( if i've got it right ) Don't ask me why lol. He does seem to have been dropped right in it by our current so called owners .

Choudhury looks the part far more than he is the part but really hoping that performance was just lack of sharpness. His previous game for us was the playoff final where he was good so hopefully he gets closer to that asap.

Burrows has played in midfield on multiple occasions for us

and generally been the worst player on the pitch.
He hasn’t played left of a three though. It would give him access to the wide areas he thrives in.

He was asked to play in a 2 of a 4-2-3-1. It’s a completely different ask.

He has nowhere near mastered the skills of being a left back yet. Fascinates me how people think he can transform into a midfielder instantly.

He has been dropped right in it but still has a squad and wage bill that many at least a dozen would swap. Yes there are holes but he has not helped himself by signings the wrong players and wasting funds on too many that do, or play the same thing.

Im not get him out but fear he simply dies not have his mojo or any new ideas anymore. He is being regularly outcoscgdd by younger managers who tweak things at half time and we struggle hugely. He is a steady pair of hands and loves the club but I think as a coach and tactician he is lacking v
badly. I think this will be his last season and we need to move on. A lot has been made of Selles but the idea about trying a progressive manager who will change the style was right, if we got the right man and made the changes behind the scenes (dof, scouting).

I am concerned it will turn nasty and sour and start to impinge on a great legacy. I think we just need to be looking at a United without Wilder sooner rather than later but we were right to bring him back and steady the ship. There is just too much mess behind the scenes, meaning we cannot contemplate a managerial change as will bring further chaos.

On the field, I am not sure individually or collectively we could look less clueless under a different coach though. The players have looked as lost under Wilder this seaskn as under Selles but we have scraped sone results which says a lot about the spirit.

After the break Schumacher made a change, pushed the midfield up and exploited our weaknesses. Wilder just threw like for like on. He made no tactical or formation changes. Did not plug the issues on the right side and Bolton completely took over.

I'm afraid we are going to have to get used to second half fades out. Firstly because the coaching team continually fail to react to oppostion tactical changes. Second and of more concern is by filling the squad with ageing unfit players, injuries will increase and the limitations of the squad will be exposed. We already have four out in Seriki, One, Burrows and Chong. McCallum may now be added to the list.

After a promising opening 30 minutes, first minute mistake apart, we fell away again second half. Peck and Reidewald were just too pedestrian so changes seemed sensible. Unfortunately we brought on 2 midfield players who have struggled with injury and completely lost control of the game.

The levels of fitness and match sharpness were a concern as the game progressed. Choudhury, BBD, Reidewald, Phillips, Campbell and Arblaster all seem some way off being able to play for 90 minutes. When half of the team are in this starte no wonder we struggled to contain a very average Bolton.

We won against the odds so that will help confidence. Interesting the manager post match talked about formation changes. It would help if he did this during the game.

😂😂😂 Heres a few of these ,its what your mob understand, what a ridiculous set of marks. Your hatred of Utd is shining through.
