'Mark the pitsmoor Owl' made some very fair comments about the blades not going anywhere until they get shot of Mccabe due to failing in spending quality money on quality players which I for one agree.. but the bit that got to me was..and in his own words..'Rotherham are our new rivals now. Not sheffield united' - in the way that the blades are not as big as the owls now. Many wednesdayites are also going around saying 'Rotherham are our rivals.. and the blades are small fry nowadays'. Surely we haven't gone THAT downhill have we? If I told u 5 years ago that in 2014 Rotherham will be Wednesdays new rivals and have over taken our mark in the steel city derby, would u have believed me? Will steel city derbys ever be as passionate now that toy town are regarded as 'bigger rivals' to the Wednesday?

I heard him and he's a WUM. He argued that he wanted an owner who cared for his club and went to matches, unlike McCabe, who even lives abroad. Whatever anybody thinks of McCabe, there won't be many who doubt that he really is a fan.

The jibes about Rotherham being their rivals was clearly another wind up, There won't be many oinkers who share Mark's stated view.

Mark's a good standby, like Brian the Blade, neither of them have anything to say that's worth hearing.

I listen to this guy on fh, he's always on..

I imagine him sat there in an old shell suit, kids crawling round his ankles in scruffy clothes with snot encrusted noses waiting for their pot noodles to be cool enough to eat..

His overweight girlfriend sat farting away reading katie prices book in a poorly fitting jumper...

And during this daydream I manage to miss every word he has to say..

Win..win...

I'd say for once the Pitsmoor pig is talking sense. While we've always thought of the Millers as little brother, who we'll bail out now and again with a few loans, the pigs have always had some needle with Rovrum, they're about the snorters level. Always have been, always will be.

Completely irrelevant. Whether a few grunts actually believe this has no bearing on this club's present and future. If anyone were to swallow this twaddle they deserve to be drawn into this.....well it's as if they've just watched 'The Matrix' and consider it to be the way life is meant to be.

Wednesday are in the mess they deserve to be. They will struggle to attract substantial investment, therefore they will plod along in a bubble of conceit that only the most foolhardy (meaning the hardcore of pigs) will support. A word to the wise, for those for think this couldn't happen to us, and that spending our way out of our current plight is all that matters, would you be prepared to face the financial horrors that Wednesday have to contend with?

My train of thought.

I saw the words Mark The Pitsmoor Owl. I then wonder what this particular crack addict on has been on about now, then i think about our very own resident phone in bore Brian The Blade, then realised that i didn't listen to football heaven earlier and said a small prayer of thanks, and then realised that the empty vessels make the loudest noise.

As far as i'm concerned football phone-ins on Radio Sheffield have gone slowly downhill since the retirement of Bob Jackson on Praise or Grumble.

Are the differences so stark? Their manager seems to be doing a decent job on a tight championship budget. Our manager's doing a decent job on a better but not large third division budget.

Just about every football fan in the world would swap our current position for theirs, so the point's not clear to me.

(for the sake of wider debate, as I'm on ignore :))

Thats a quality impression:D

I've seen this film before and know how it ends.

Satellite town with small football club emerges from dark period under the ownership of local business man, who builds a new stadium and finances club from his own pocket. Promotions through the leagues follow and although attendances never rise above 10k the local radio station plays them up as if the champions league is on the horizon.

Failure follows after the manager leaves.

When Wednesday were irrelevant and whittling between the second and third tier for so long, the rivalry lost its spark then too...

However if we were to be promoted or to draw one another in the cup the hatred and passion would re-ignite again from both sets of supporters.

Just dribble by some Pig on the radio to be honest. To be fair, I wouldn't take anyone from Pitmoors opinion too seriously.

I really largely agree with what he said !
The only difference being Rotherham are now OUR biggest rivals than SWFC,after all aint Toytown closer to us than Barnsley anyway ?:D

Oh I know we are just pondscum of a viral and violent nature - the inbred psycho brother of the Manor. We were thinking of twinning with the Ukraine until it got too quiet over there. Still the middle east may hot up again and I hear the Gaza strip is wonderful this time of year.

To be honest I am amazed I haven't spent half my life in the nick by virtue of being born and raised in an S4 postcode. Life in stereotypical S11 must be wonderful - and there was me thinking only Wendys lived in that sort of cloud cuckoo-land.

Relax though 'cos I doubt too many of us from Pitsmoor are grieving about your low opinion of us S11 - your loss pal.

Surely Barnsley are t'pigs main rivals...after all, they're just a small satellite town off Barnsley...

As I said on another thread:

I can't understand all this gloating. I've just listened to Football Heaven and the overwhelming opinion is that 'it's good news'. The scutters from Parson Cross & Southey Green, just sitting down to their beans on toast and wearing their 'Azerbaijan' shirts are 'relieved it's all over'. Pitmoor Owl - interspersing his sentences with 'yeah?' in the best Jeremy Kyle druggie style said that 'Well, yeah? in, yeah? Mee-lan, yeah? we trust. Yeah?' What United, yeah? have to understand, yeah? is that Rotherham, yeah? are bigger, yeah? rivals than United. Yeah?'

Football Heaven is the radio equivalent of Sheffield Forum. The piggies think that, by sheer volume of posts, they've won the day. One moron on FH yesterday even emulated the 'sigs' of SF. After they'd indulged his shite, he ended with summat like 'Sheffield Wednesday, bigger and better since 1868' which, of course, the Radio Pig announcer was pleased to read out.

Is it interesting? Just seems like a pretty standard dig from the dark side.

Football's cyclical. Currently Rotherham are above us and as they're in Wednesday's division this season and we're not, perhaps that rivalry is a bit stronger. But in the long run is Rotherham v Wendy ever going to overtake the Sheffield derby? Na. If you asked a Wednesdayite if they'd rather win both games against Rotherham or knock us out the cup, I think the vast majority would take getting one over on us.

As for the McCabe comments, stunning insight there.

Mark is a man that has to say 'yeah' after every sentence with that in mind he will never make any fair comments..........YEAH
