Can you use your reach to attempt to squash the narrative/educate the overall fan base on the financial reality for us this year?

Fire Sale. Asset Stripping. Pocketing the transfer money. All tales being told repeatedly online to explain the club's actions.

Thanks.

Wouldn't hold your breath mate.

You'd be better off targeting Tuftys mouthpiece Danny Hall or his mate Wit. They'll be closer to the truth...

But that’s a list of facts, do you want spin and censorship?

All framed in terms of the owners pulling money out to somehow undermine the club. Not plugging financial holes and keeping us in the black.

I'd like owners that are willing to lose their own money (even though that's not really possible anymore) to improve the playing staff, but the general narrative needs to be corrected IMO - explain why we're skint, in terms as simple to understand as 'Fire Sale' and 'Asset Stripping' because I think that's why people are using those terms - it's easier than articulating/understanding the reality.

Totally get where you are coming from RJ and respect your views as a seasoned forum contributor. However, those terms have to be used as the owners are failing to communicate so no one can ‘explain’ why we are skint etc. so all fans can do is speculate on what looks like a duck, waddles like a duck then barks.
The owners are setting the narrative not these mystery ‘influences’ you speak of.

<3

It's not mystery influencers setting the narrative, it's general commentary online that are framing the owners motives in those terms.

Agree 100% that because there's a vacuum of primary source information, the void is being filled.. My point is, we do have vocal, present, even sizable social media influencers that could be using their platforms to displace the void and articulate why and how the nuances of footballing governance have shaped our situation.

You can cut costs and reduce the wage bill without selling our best players and replacing them with loans.

Without selling players hours before the window shuts with no replacement lined up.

Without appearing to have any plan whatsoever.

The idea that this summer of transfer activity was inevitable is far more dangerous and dim-witted than any other narrative.

I'd be interested to see actual numbers backing this up. My instinct is to think the same, but I suspect the saved wages would fall well short of the £30M required

Choudhury, supposedly on 50K a week, supposedly our highest earner. That's £2.5Mish a year. We'd need to get rid of 12 players earning, supposedly our highest salary to break even. Not to mention filing those squad places with 'cheaper' loans, ignoring bonuses, signing on fees for Free Agents etc etc etc.

Choudhury - our biggest earner - wow

As if anyone with a modicum of sense listens to any self-proclaimed "influencer".
I do tbh

I’ve written , on my dining room wall , 1,024 team line ups this transfer window .

I thought I would be smart and pre - ordered 35 team shirts with linked players names on the back - just in case .

I had all of our strips with the name Worrall printed as I was convinced this was a goer. I even told my Priest it was happening . I’m seeing him this afternoon 😬

Every cloud though - I can reuse a few Ive bought in the past

Like it or not, they have a disproportionate voice in our community. I'd like them to use it to support the club, explain the realities, even if they're painful.

I think you overstate the influence of self-aggrandising social media "stars" with anyone who actually matters.

They're very good at (monetised) noise.

Enacting change? Doubt it.

The main reason no-one, here or anywhere else knows the full facts is that the ppl in possession of them arent telling. Enquiries to said parties will only reveal just how much influence said influencers actually have.

Fans can only make judgement based upon what they see happening. Which right now is Court/EFL governance issues and a sell-off in the transfer window.

And said owners, by all accounts, attempting, by legal manoeuvring, to avoid paying £30m to the Prince.

Can some 'influencer', preferably high as a kite on hallucinogens, explain that away.

I wouldn’t mind becoming an Influencer - whats the process - how do I apply ?

I have many of the skills required - anyone who has ever read any of my posts know I talk complete bollocks - Shirley that’s a start ?

You need to be a bottle blond, have pouty lips and glorious nails - or so I'm told.

Fans understand selling players to keep a club running, what seems incomprehensable is to not replace assets sold with other assets that can be sold in the future, ie players we own rather than pure loans.
