I know people are recollecting what Wilder said re "no perms only frees and loans".
But wasn't this before the projected sales of COH and Cannon.
In this case we should have enough money to fund the likes of Cleary and maybe Soutter ( if Leicester drop their price).
Another thought that I've had. was, Wilder has had a fancy for Windass in the past. Does he think Wrexham will try to use him as a make weight in any business they do with us 🤔.

"I know we're selling our main remaining creative spark but maybe we could soften the blow by bringing in a player the fans hate"

Anyone else think it is an unfair advantage to those clubs playing tomorrow, instead of tonight?

It seems crazy half the league has to manage playing a game, whilst being in the final hours of deadline day.

Have we had this scenario before? I am sure there's not usually games ongoing.

Probably just the price of doing business the way we do. I'd guess that for the vast majority of the league, the first team manager being unavailable for a few hours on deadline day doesn't particularly compromise their recruitment.

I think I'd take being a player light if it meant recouping something on Cannon. I think we need 2 creative midfielders if COH goes. Then a forward and CB. It's not looking

and windass would come 😉

I feel quite chipper tbh

Sun shining , looking after youngest grandson today , he’s going to help me in the garden (some grass to cut - yeah 👍)

Off to BL this evening, think I’ll have pie chips peas and gravy as a special treat - might keep my shorts on - legs lovely and brown .

Don’t really care who goes , comes in , or doesn’t for that matter . Stopped worrying about that when Currie left .

Hope we win - hope I enjoy the game (haven’t for a long while but I’m institutionalized) and as always will look forward to reading this forum .

Off to Flamborough on Thursday evening to extend my decking -

Ahhhhhh
Thornwick Bay?

Reading various Blades related social media today, what has struck me is how many are seemingly ignoring the fact we have a game tonight in relation to who might leave.

I've seen people suggesting the possibility of four or five leaving outside of COH in late moves.

How are medicals and deals going to be done with players on the pitch until 9.45pm?

Any potential deal surely will need to be moving before teatime.

In all seriousness how can our manager possibly plan for the game tonight - its crazy - Our team sheet must resemble Marty McFly`s family picture in BTTF II when images of individuals kept fading and then coming back into focus .

Edit

just seen you post above

Was about to say we might see some Academy players on the bench just to make up numbers but most of those on the edges of the first team (Blacker, Giggs etc) are in their line up for today. Interesting that Ukaki wasn't so either he is off on loan or... he is needed in the first team just to get tonights game out the way!

I would be happy if we were reinvesting it into the squad or even into Dore but any money will go to the owners not the squad. COH has shown glimpses of decent play, McGuinness has surprised some and Cooper apart from the 1st vs Cardiff has been good this season. Then we are reliant on Phillips/Jairo/Rothwell setup, the rest even Bamford has shown little, we have one LWB when we don’t play a position to suit Burrows and he is sat behind in the rankings with a further 2 full time LBs, we have the “messiah”in Shackleton that doesn’t get any minutes. Yes it was a second string Blackburn side but Cannon showed he could finish and get behind defenders, it would have been interesting vs Cardiff, to see the outcome if he wasn’t cleaned out for the penalty. We aren’t a playoff/autos team anymore, we lost that chance when we lost at home to Oxford and others when top of the league a few seasons ago. The pool we are fishing in is different. If Cannon gets 7 or 8 goals at a club around 13/14th in the league he has done well. You only have to look at the teams “interested” apparently Preston and Stoke to know the level he is rated at.

The plan was sales to cover running costs first that includes wages transfer instalments and budget and people keeping their office club jobs etc. so around 25 million possibly the figure before we can speculate on purchases. I would not be surprised if we lose another 1 or 2 before 7.45

What's he like upfront?

I heard he runs around the back.
A solid number 2
Nesh in the tackle and dithers when in possession.
Not a real leader in any sense of the word.
Unreliable in a crisis.
You wouldn’t want to be next to him when the shit hits the fan as he would make sure it all went your way.

His turns are pretty impressive though. You think he is going one way then, suddenly, the other direction!

Even with a DoF you’d still think the manager would want to be looped into what’s going on?

But yes, it doesn’t help us, does it?
