I feel quite chipper tbh

Sun shining , looking after youngest grandson today , he’s going to help me in the garden (some grass to cut - yeah 👍)

Off to BL this evening, think I’ll have pie chips peas and gravy as a special treat - might keep my shorts on - legs lovely and brown .

Don’t really care who goes , comes in , or doesn’t for that matter . Stopped worrying about that when Currie left .

Hope we win - hope I enjoy the game (haven’t for a long while but I’m institutionalized) and as always will look forward to reading this forum .

Off to Flamborough on Thursday evening to extend my decking -

Ahhhhhh

Any deal to get Cannon off the books is worthwhile.

We aren’t making money on him because he’s proven he’s not very good. It’s just a case of getting rid so we can play with 11 again and not 10 + a passenger.

Yes, I know he did ok at the weekend, but one swallow doesn’t make a summer.
I would be happy if we were reinvesting it into the squad or even into Dore but any money will go to the owners not the squad. COH has shown glimpses of decent play, McGuinness has surprised some and Cooper apart from the 1st vs Cardiff has been good this season. Then we are reliant on Phillips/Jairo/Rothwell setup, the rest even Bamford has shown little, we have one LWB when we don’t play a position to suit Burrows and he is sat behind in the rankings with a further 2 full time LBs, we have the “messiah”in Shackleton that doesn’t get any minutes. Yes it was a second string Blackburn side but Cannon showed he could finish and get behind defenders, it would have been interesting vs Cardiff, to see the outcome if he wasn’t cleaned out for the penalty. We aren’t a playoff/autos team anymore, we lost that chance when we lost at home to Oxford and others when top of the league a few seasons ago. The pool we are fishing in is different. If Cannon gets 7 or 8 goals at a club around 13/14th in the league he has done well. You only have to look at the teams “interested” apparently Preston and Stoke to know the level he is rated at.

Hopefully but something like this

Ins
Kitching - loan
Soutter - perm
Clearly - perm
1 of the following Mundle,Esse,mcateer - loan
1 striker whos tall & powerful on a free * if cannon goes (maybe that lad from luton?)
Cant think of anyone else.

Out
McGuinness
Zätterström
Cannon*
Grbic
Ohare
Other fringe players on loan.

The chances of Souttar coming to a club that looks increasingly likely to be in League One next season, with or without points deduction, must be pretty small.

I'm quivering all over now ,
thinking of your lovely brown legs reclining on an extended decking at Flamborough Head 😘
See any birds there ?
Sorry ...
Any sea birds there ?

With O'Hare seeming like he is gone.

I'd be delighted with Kitching and Cleary. Doubt we get Cleary as we won't pay for him. If not Cleary hope we can get a decent loan we can get excited about.

Don't think we necessarily need a direct replacement for COH, a midfield of 1 holding midfielder (Phillips, Jairo, Hamza in a pinch), and two 8s (Peck, Rothwell, Arblaster, Chong or Phillips in a pinch) can succeed.

Wilder already said no perms
There will be loans only if were lucky. But we need 3 minimum

It will be interesting what happens to Souttar today.

Saints losing Harewood-Bellis but going for a centre half from Forest rather than Souttar.

I read one article saying Leicester might come for McGuinness if Souttar looks like leaving.

Not the worst outcome for all parties would be:
United get 6.5m or more for O’Hare.
We use 3m of that and McGuinness to secure Souttar.
We use the remaining 3.5m to get Cleary.
We sell Cannon for 7-10m and BBD moves to a CF option with Bamford.
We get Kitching on loan.

Gives us stronger defence, a more reliable forward line and some added pace plus pushes the cash surplus even further.

I’d hope for this sort of outcomes if difficult decisions are being made.
Optimistic inside13 hours

Walked from North Landing to Flam Head week last Sat , very little bird activity but that’s to be expected . There weren’t many seals 🦭 at Flamboro Head but they will increase in numbers due to calving time in late Sept / early October.

Having said that there were one or two tasty chicks in the Headland cafe near the Lighthouse- there was also one or two munters tbh but thats due to migration from Brid

It won’t go to the owners, it will go to cover the shortfall of running the club. Unless you’re seeing large withdrawals by the owners that no one else is?

Which should really be the owners job. If we can’t pay our bills without having to sell players we will be back to League one. To be fair it wouldn’t be the worse thing in the world as long as we can clear out the deadwood that went with it. The likes of One, Baptise, Marsh, Eadie, Giggs and others could see the transition through quite nicely. The club does need a massive reset button at the moment under the owners and management structure we have we aren’t forward thinking. We need to get our scouting networks, our future player pathways and be ruthless. Yes they have big incomings but Brighton are up to £390million in player sales the biggest was Caicedo buying him for around £4million and selling him to Chelsea for £116million, it is deals like that, that have made them sustainable. Not selling our best up and coming striker for £10mill or something along those lines

Just trying to add a bit of optimism in here 😂😂.

Always that little bit of hope we may just pull something out of the hat last minute. When we dont which will be inevitable then I'll be fully in the doom & gloom camp 😂.

Im the type that gets excited and optimistic when I buy a euros lottery ticket thinking this is the one where I win.... ultimately to be left disappointed with not even a number remotely close.

This is the problem with football, people expect owners to pump the money in. Clubs should be self sufficient.

Unless McGuinness goes then I don’t see how Souttar comes and we probably can’t risk not taking Kitching and leaving ourselves short.

We only have 2 loan slots remaining - Donovan, Phillips, BBD.

I know you can have as many as you want but loaning and leaving one out of the matchday squad just seems daft.

Suggest drinking then 😂

If we hadn’t have bought Chong and McGuinness last year, we’d already have 6m extra in the bank without selling O’Hare.

What’s more, that option came the added bonus of having Chong and McGuinness playing for someone else.

It’s easy is this squad building lark. 💪

I though it might be worth having one thread to discuss today’s moves, be that ours or our divisional rivals.

For what it’s worth I can see the following:

Out - Blacker, Grbic, Zatterstrom, Ukaki - all loans. O’Hare, Cannon - both sales

In - Kitching (loan), Cleary (buy), Big lump attacker (loan)

I just hope the players we bring in have outstanding attributes ie good pace, aerially dominant etc none of this jack of all trades like Cannon where he isn’t outstanding at anything.
Really hoping we hang on to O’Hare and sell fkin Peck.

When are you taking bookings for "jumpers" .

We'll be much weaker, have a worse attacking threat when it was important to improve this before losing COH or anyone else, and as well as struggling to score goals, will no doubt play turgid stuff.

Buckle up.

The thing is, I don't think this is down to Wilder's tactical changes. These deals are purely financial, presumably to pay off the Prince.
