Wonderful vibrant community environment with social responsibility embedded into the culture philosophy & atmosphere. ((translated for buffoons as ‘woke’)
A fascinating suburb of an equally fascinating & most hospitable city. The club (currently?) exudes excitement & pride in its achievements, with some parallels to us during (the majority of ) Wilder’ initial tenure. A recognisable (relatively) innovative style, charismatic manager on a (fairytale) adventure taking it to the ‘big boys’ with strong & passionate connection with supporters & indeed the wider community.

Not sure about the brown jersey mind, although the recent brown / black quartered affair was (strangely) attractive.

If I was RJJ (& good enough) I’d have no hesitation in signing up to that for a team that perfectly suits my attributes (swift counter attack ing) in one of Europe’s top leagues & getting to play in some of worlds best stadia against same of Europes (worlds?) best players whilst getting paid to so do.

What’s not to like?

I’d (likely) even turn down United too.

Oh & Richard Jobson, lead singer of The Skids (& all round good bloke) is a season ticket holder

Oh I love the colours, it’s what got me into them in first place

The 2009-10 home kit, similar to Sampdoria, is one of my all time favourite kits

Last season’s away was similar / the same design
Predominantly white with a red & a brown band across the chest

But it’s still brown!!!!!!! - although on reflection, I guess that is your colour!

I have St Pauli Tv so watch their games, he has hardly figured but when he has come on a couple of times he hasn’t looked anything tbh
 



Only managed 9 games last season in the bundesliga, injured the rest of the season (ticks that all important recent long term injury box of ours). Scored away at Dortmund.

3rd fastest player in the bundesliga last season (Oli Burke was #1 😂) so would potentially give us a different option that could work with the hoofball 'style' we play.

He went to Germany as I recall cause no one here would pay what Peterborough wanted.

He was a free, all Peterborough got was a small fee due to him being an international signing, they lost out on selling him for money previously

Lot of hype when linked to us but I didn’t think he was anywhere the like of Ivan Toney he was being likened too. IMO

I can only really go with what I have seen him at St Pauli and that’s not been remotely good. lol
 
He’d certainly give us pace out wide to run onto these long punts up the line.
 



He started off well St Pauli from what I remember and then was hit with fairly bad injuries.

221 days of injury to be exact with an additional 6 weeks of getting back up to speed, in 2 seasons, he essentially missed a season and a half of football. Judging him on his performances in Germany imo doesn’t give anyone a clear picture of what he’s about.

All people will probably know (because it was made a fuss of in the Bundesliga) is he is the 3rd fastest footballer in the world, quicker than the like of mbappe and prime Kyle Walker. He also knows burrows and Sam Curtis, it’s got a wilder “have a word with your old pal” kind of scouting vibe this one.

God knows, if the pace is matched with any meaningful product, you’d suspect not. In league one he was not prolific by any means with 13 goal contributions last time out in England, but he was only 21 and still very seen as an emerging talent. Sounds like he’s had an inconsistent time in Germany, it’s a risk, but he’d bring pace which in this Level 1 BTEC version of Juventus where currently building might help.
