Imagine we could have Webster, Tanganga, Phillips, Rothwell, Bamford as the spine of the team.

So much quality there.

And there is a possibility that 3/4 of them could be injured.

I guess that is the gamble. Their fitness works out and we could be top 4. It doesn’t then we could be around 16th.

Is he back in training yet?
Anyone know???

Guess we get to see whether the injury is career ending or not…coming back from that at 31 is a biggie.
He was 30 when he got it his first major injury ,a year older than rodri who's come back pretty well .

Am I right that we've had a big change on the fitness and recovery side of things for this season?

It was definitely needed as the last few seasons we've suffered massively with recurring injuries and getting injured players back to their best.

Look what Hull did with Egan. Mcburnie also seems to be available much more for them than he ever was for us.

Hopefully we have. Otherwise a signing like this is pointless. But if we can get him back to anything close to his best, we'll have some player for this division.

Considering we got to see RND AND Shackleton at the weekend I’d say improvement of almost Biblical proportions. Lazarus’ achievements are nothing compared to getting little Jamie on the grass!

Not sure I've seen anyone mention that Webster is/was considered to be a ball playing defender.

I don't know a huge amount about Webster, but if his injury troubles are behind him, then there's a major argument to him being one of the best defenders in the league.

Of course, we're in the same position as we have been with Souttar as far as fitness concerns. The drastic difference in overall price between the 2 makes Webster a far more appealing signing though, especially in our current position.

Would have thought any incoming freebies now the target would be to have them ready to go after the next international break. Unsure how many games before that we'd have to play mind.

I’d be a bit more comfortable about this signing if our club had any made any steps towards improving the medical or fitness teams.
