£10m is way too much for an injury prone CB.

He did a great job for us when he played here, but at £2m it's worthwhile gamble, at £10m is ridiculous.

Let's look elsewhere

I really hope the bid left on the table is no more than £5m all in. Take or leave it scenario to LCFC (provided we dont get other players in, in the meantime).

Let them get edgy nearer the deadline when they still desperately need money to steady themselves.

Hes good, suits us, he obviously enjoyed his time at the Lane, but there is a limit fee wise that anything above shouldnt be entertained. Provided we have only gone so far with reasonable fee offered, arent budging any more, and wont do either, then fair dos United/Bettis. Lets play them and the situation rather than the other way around.

bit out of the loop is there any truth or realistic potential in the swap i keep hearing about between souttar & mcguinness

On current form, how much money are they giving us to take their third division injury prone, error prone 27 year old centre back in exchange for our immovable Championship younger 25 year old Centre Back? 😉

Id start at £5m (all in), and drop the offer by £300k a day until the end of the window.

jus wait and get Souttar on a free when his deals up priorities are clearly going forward were solid at the back Souttar isn't any faster than Mcguiness UTB

Defence is proving to be the least of our worries so far. Use the Souttar money for creative, attacking players which we are desperate for.
Agreed, Leicester City have done us a big favour and shot themselves in h the foot big time!!! No surprise as their owners are batshit crazy. I doubt they’ll be able to sell Souttar to anyone for more than £3 million max now.

There HAS to be someone we can sign to bring some creativity somewhere in the world for the presumably 5/6m we’ve bid for Souttar. Money would be much much better spend on what we truely lack.

Like the player but no resale value and you have to acknowledge the injury risk.

If there is then others have decided not too buy then

Nit trying to be negative for sake of it but right now we have found ourselves in place where any permanent depends on us either massively overspending or the parent club lining up a replacement in the 10 days left

are we sure hes the answer?

look at this ....

I just don't think he's the player that we had here on loan anymore. He's looked awful so far.
Either that, or his heart isn't in it. (if that's the case, do we want someone who can have that mentality?)

I think it's now clearly more important we prioritise any funds we do have for some creativity, we're crying out for it.
Get Webster in, that gives you 4 CB options (plus Sam for lcb if he wants to go 5 at back in games).

A couple of left wingers, an attacking mid, shipping out Cannon and replacing with a footballer and I think that would be enough.

I’m updating my earlier plan based on performances.

Let’s just offer a straight swap for McGuiness…maybe 🥴🤣
If I were king of BDTBL I’d go buy Anel tomorrow for £5 million then offer £3 million for Souttarman in the last hour of the transfer window.

👍

If Nixon is right about the price then Leicester City are off their heads:

Completely crackers in the circumstances.

Once a player makes it clear he wants to leave, any club is making a rod for their own backs by making his exit difficult. If rumours were to be believed about our initial bids, Leicester could have trousered £5m + add ons, which could have gone towards a very tidy war chest in league 1. But nope, they dig in and now have a dispirited player, with formerly interested clubs now making plans elsewhere.

No wonder they are in such a mess. The owners are morons. Hopefully we aren't heading in the same direction.

They are genuinely insane.

They need money, Souttar wants to go, everything was agreed with the player regarding terms with us and Leicester decided to fuck about with the fee.

In what way are their owners crazy? They were rich, Thai government legislation and ahuge drop in Chinese tourism fucked their business model and now they can't afford it
