Anel

I would sign Ahmedhodzic over Souttar every day of the week, and twice on Sundays - nothing wrong with Souttar, and I wanted us to get him in, but as soon as it was known that Anel is available it's a complete and utter no brainer.

Unfortunately, this is United, and even with a tap in of a transfer like this you just know we are "considering the prospect of putting together and submitting an enquiry prior to an official bid" ..... to sign him on loan.

HOW DOES HE KNOW HE WANTS THE MOVE
It's another weird and leading article from Hall.

Some frankly bizarre quotes?

'This is no longer a football decision. The decision rests with the men signing the cheques'

So if they don't sign Anel cos fans sang his song then that shows their ambitions?

These owners have huge deficiencies but they aren't going to authorise a 5 million+ signing as the fans sang his name! Its not as straightforward as that. We have no idea of his wages etc or whether he would come back or if others may offer him much more.

No direct evidence Anel wants to return despite this article saying so. Unless he has asked him but does not say that, so no idea what it's based on - are the Star simply basing it on the fact Anel's wife played his song on social media and his Dad posted a few clips too?! Surely they must have more than that?!

Also whilst criticism of the owners is valid, the digs at them here are strange: "don't know if the owners watched, don't even know where they are." Maybe try and find out where they are? As Roy Keane said, 'Its your job!'

The more you read Hall's columns, the more you can see he's Wilder's puppet, whether directly or indirectly, he's not hiding it very well.

Wit similarly says things that are anti-Board and pro-Wilder quite regularly and is clearly his best mates mouthpiece... you worry where that stuffs heading.

Yet another reason for a DoF (or similar) and not shoving all your eggs in the basket of Wilder & his pals.

A lot of hopeful one liners thrown out into the public domain to engender interest. The credibility of the article is called into question at the point Hall mentions SUFC's "planned front foot approach"! 😆.

Now thats a story in itself as 25,000 will confirm on Saturday there was no visible evidence of it on display.

Talk of him being available for as little as 4m.

Is there even a decision to be made if that’s true?

Get him and Souttar, don’t piss around trying to get last minute wingers and sell Cannon. Get one last minute striker to make up the numbers.

Job done.

Surely someone can shred some light on this. £4M looks like it might be achievable by just writing off any instalment yet to be paid?

Yes, and without sounding like captain obvious, it unfortunately means £4m less future income - which is another hole to fill (unless this is instead of Souttar).

Leicester are going to be panicking big time if we bring Anel back. They'll be left with a player who doesn't want to be there (based on his defending for the goal on Saturday!) and he doesn't fit Russell Martin's style of play. They should have taken our offers when they had the chance, they aren't exactly in a position to be rejecting big bids given their financial situation!

Although I like Souttar as a player, in a way I hope this one is instead of or we are looking at others. Ultimately Leicester City are a doomed club filled with overpaid players, we should learn that they can't have it their own way. Yes we might wanted the player (Souttar) but we put our final offer in and have to walk away, Leicester City had their final chance type thing. You either want to sell him or you don't, we have been shafted too many times over the years, he is an Australian CB with major injury problems and although not much down to him still has a double relegation on his hands and he is a League 1 player. We had a future England captain and sold him for £4million in 2007, roughly based on inflation (not football related really but real terms monitory) that's £7.2 million and there have been numerous others. Leicester are controlling the negotiation when ultimately they are looking at administration, I personally don't think we should give them that joy of holding out for £10 million for Souttar.

Southampton apparently in advance talks (according to Nixon, so take with a lot of salt) so we'll need to move fast
