Going to Bramall lane and watching the Blades is a privilege. Those Blades no longer with us , or in poor health , or simply can no longer afford it would swap places with any of lucky enough to still be in the ground .

My mate , we started going to BDTBL together in 1975 (although we had been going with my uncle since 1970 ) , would love to be going today - he passed away on the way home from the Norwich home game in December last year .

First season ever that I will be going to the opening game by myself .

We seem to regularly play Birmingham at home early on in the season. Not sure of this was the first match of the season? A rare 4-4.

We played at Reading the previous week.

In that 4-4 match, Katchouro came on as sub but was substituted not long after. He was so upset and after the match he was on his way to the airport to fly back to Belarus but a club official managed to stop him from catching the flight.
