We have to accept Wrexham are in a better financial position than us but if this carries on much longer and we lose out, I hope we've got some good back up options that we've sounded out
Yeah, I know I am not the first to mention it but brining Anel back would be the perfect solution now, we have done a bit of annoying the buyer in Wrexham like people do on E-bay. With some of his fee performance related, it was initially about £3mill a year ago, with the rest made up in performance and add on's etc. We can agree to write that off, write off the amortisation of the contract and sign him in the region of £3.5mill saving us £4mill or so and although Wrexham would have a quality player in Souttar, some things aren't always meant to be.

Lots of shade being thrown at the club, suppositions, assumptions, judgments based on conjecture without anything even approaching actual information.

We know the square root of fuck all about the inner details of any deal (CW, in today's presser, indicated that the Philips deal has protective conditions surrounding his fitness, so the clubs not exposed - features that never get discussed, while 'pay to play' gets trotted out every window) so why jump on the club, wilder, the player, (I'll accept the agents) based on vibes?

Save yourselves the outrage and respond to what we actually know.

Brewster wasn't our plan A though. When you realise he was the second choice and we may not have had a third it makes it more understandable that we paid what we did
So what about the whole "a loan was an option, but how Wilder spoke about him" and "Wilder pushed for him as his priority signing" ect?

No panic, several forum members have confirmed the deals already done just waiting for the worlds longest medical to finish

I think we may be in for some good news.

Twitter admin has sent out tweets today that have started....

"A classic returns"

"Blades welcome"

"A new contract for"

They are either trolling, or they need to read the room

Absolutely spot on … but will unfortunately get drowned out by the rage posting that leaves most of us a) baffled and b) bored.

Great, but they made it abundantly clear they weren't going to accept our offers and we'd have to go higher. At that point, you look elsewhere and you wait for them to come back to you if other offers don't materialise

You don't panic bid. You don't throw more money at it
Have you ever bought a used item if not I will explain how it works Seller asks for more than they are happy to settle for, buyer offers less than they are happy to pay
Discussion takes place and the price paid is usually in between both parties agree the figure and the item is sold.
But I agree if the price is more than you are willing to pay then you walk away or vice versa if the price does not meet your value you do not sell

Why do we always do this ?? Only under wilder do we seem to go all in on one player ( don't get me wrong I'd love us to sign Souttar) and end up with someone else's cast offs, if we've got 10m to spend on a centre half I'm sure there's other's out there !!! IMO it just shows how weak our recruitment team is plus Wilder's usual bull headed "I'm always right but it's someone else's fault " attitude.
I'm going to make a lot of people pissed off at me but honestly I can't see us getting anywhere top 6 with him in charge unless something dramatic happens in the recruitment in the next 17 days !!
Don't get me wrong I'll grudgingly be behind him whilst he's in charge. But I've always hated this " one of our own " quote.

I think Souttar will make a difference to the promotion race. Whoever gets him will increase the chance of getting promoted enormously. Having said that, if we did get promoted next season would be unbearable.

There are no reasons to assume that if Wrexham wanted to pay 10 million plus for him then they would wait until now

Or that they would fork out that much for option C or D

If they wanted him he was likely option A or B and he would be there by now

That’s not to say he still won’t end up there, it might be a case that the player would rather come here but we can’t agree a fee

Yes we would no doubt be in for a season of pain we did somehow manage to get promoted but to get there we would have had a season of joy
Also the extra finances could help with our Dore facility I think it would be worth the pain

It's worth it for the parachute payments alone. I'd take a terrible season in the Premier League, getting battered each week if it means us competing at the top of the Championship for two seasons with a financial advantage over most.

Im from North Wales, and know a lot of Wrexham fans, they think the Souttar links are smokescreens for the Falchener deal. They did the same with Patterson, links with Palmer etc...
It's still on im sure.
I hope...

Cmon those itk... Is it on?

Apparently some of these rumours linking him elsewhere have been coming from Leicester.

Wouldn't be surprised..
Pretty much everything is from the Leicester end. The only thing thats confusing me is the John Percy tweet. He's usually bob on with Leicester news

My guy hasn’t changed his stance yet, I’ll see if I can get an update.

I’ve just read that we’ve won the race to get Souttar for £7m but don’t know where I saw it.Grrr Nothing official on the club website.
